8/29/24: CCLQ at Cheryl’s

Welcome to the weekly blog post for the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week quilters met at Cheryl’s home. Enjoy the wonderful photos of quilts, clothing and Christmas decorations! This week was special in that several quilters completed or worked on Barry’s quilts.

Candy finished sewing this lovely diamond quilt top.  She plans to add a border.  Candy offered a great tip for sewing the bias edges.  She used a half inch fusible interfacing on the edges.

The group was happy to see Lynda and to see her gorgeous blue and white quilt!

Close up of the beautiful quilting by Britt.

Lynda choose this wonderful backing fabric.

Gayle shared a couple of newly sewn knit tops. Gayle has learned to create her own patterns as well.

Here’s another lovely knit top created by Gayle. Gayle found a wonderful sewing YouTube channel called Thoughtful Creativity.

Cheryl shared her beautiful Round Robin quilt.

Cheryl showed this quilt top made by Barry.  She asked about designs for quilting.  Gayle volunteered to quilt this quilt.

Carol has been busy enjoying playing with her new grandchild!  She’s also getting ready for a bridal shower for her niece.  Carol made mug rugs for each guest with embroidered initials.

DeeDee created this cool braided star ornament. Click on This to find directions.

DeeDee finished two table runners from a quilt top that Barry started.

Ella reported she’s been working on her sewing room and organized her fabric according to yardage. She loved seeing the completed projects from Barry’s quilt tops.

Deborah finished quilting a small wall hanging made by Barry. Deborah has been listening to Missouri Star Quilting Tuesday Newsday while quilting.  Recently Jenny interviewed Janet Wecker Frisch who created the Alphabet Animals line which Deborah used to make quilts for her grandkids.  Janet has a new line of fabric called Old School.

Until next time,  “beautiful things come together, one stitch at a time.”  unknown.
