10/10/2024 CCLQ @ Carol's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

This week quilters met at Carol's.  We were greeted by all the Halloween fun she has around the house.

Deedee started off by showing the completed Christmas runner with a few words of caution when using fusible batting and pillow case method instead of binding.  The back looks as good as the front.

Maggie showed her great purchases from the DOQG Show vendors.

Lynda started by showing off what Barry won as a door prise at the Quilt Show.  Nice of him to share with her don't you think?  Next she showed some recently purchase christmas fabric to finish off the top she has started.  Suggestions were flowing how to finish off the outer borders for this throw sixe Holiday Quilt.

Carol had Big Boy as a lap warmer ... reports are that his eyes were closed.   She completed the binding on one of the Carpenter Star quilts and has another for Gayle to quilt.

Candy is gearing up for Election Volunteering and she is done with the binding on Linda H's donation quilt.

Gayle wipped up this lovely child donation quilt.

Cheryl is happy to be with the group but is itching to get back to sewing.  She is currently sidelined by a knee injury.

Saturday Maggie took a trip to Pineapple/Keepsake to donate 5 quilts to the Hurricane Helene relief.  It was amazing how many they are getting, sorting and getting transported to the Mountains for local relief to distribute. Our bag is the clear one towards the right.

I got a tour of the back sorting room and it was eye opening how many boxes they are getting to open and sort.

Here are the quilts: 2 are from our Bee Challenge (Gayle's and Mine), 1 from the original blocks I learned to quilt with my friends at work and the last two needed to find new homes since I never used them.
They will continue to collect until end of Oct 31st.
