There was one guest with us. Marsha (sp?) lives in Raleigh and participates in a quilt bee at her church. She is a long-time friend who was here visiting Ruth B. She came to share a couple of family quilt tops with us. (More on those momentarily.)
Show and Tell is, once again, mixed with the work of our hands:
Cheryl K. started us off with the progress she has made on the group quilt for her friend who is going through treatments for cancer:

I soon found out that our guest had brought two BIG, BEAUTIFUL hand-pieced quilts! Apparently, Ella is going to hand quilt them. They (as she does) hail from Kentucky and were made by here Grandmother Beyond that, I feel like I am missing huge chunks of the story. I hope to add more information as it is provided in the coming weeks. (Ella knows the scoop!)
Gayle held up her latest donation quilt (she's making one per week!) for a photo op:

Deborah was busy looking for her needle (which she found in her quilt later in the morning):
Dee Dee got busy right away. She wants to get her Winter Quilt on the bed THIS winter. Sooner rather than later, as the temperatures are dropping and we may have some SNOW on the way!

Jean shared the progress she's made on two donation/commission Memory Quilts that she has been working on. They incorporate pieces of clothing and uniform patches. They will be treasured!

Joanna's quilt top was accompanied by three pieces of backing fabric. We helped her decide which one to use (but I didn't get a picture of that.) She tried to pawn the quilt off on Gayle for quilting, but Gayle is (trying to) only quilt her own donation quilts. Ultimately, she was able to convince Joanna that the quilt could wait until tax season is over.
Ruth S. designed a quilt block based on a photo of her "cottage" at "The Bluff":

Jean forgot one of her Show and Tells, but posed for a picture before we left. She bought a vest ages ago, because she loved the yarn. That vest was WAY too big for her so she took it apart and used the yarn to knit the vest she was wearing today. Have a look at the wonderful upcycling/recycling job:

Eight of us went off to lunch at Rasa (located in Chapel Hill North Shopping Center.) The others had errand to run and things like that. They don't know what they missed... YUM!!!
