2/5/15 - CCLQ @ Joy's

CCLQ would like to welcome our newest member, Jean!!!  She is our final member (until someone moves away or drops out of the group.)  We set our member ceiling at 12 (so that no one runs out of chairs!) Jean comes to us from Chatham County.  It's quite a haul...but we're worth the drive!  :o))

Today we were at Joy's house in Hillsborough.  Coffee was ready when members arrived and treats were on the table.  Dee Dee and Joanna were happy about that!!

Lots of chatting was followed by a bit of work, which was followed by some Show and Tell.  It was a wonderful morning!

We'll start with our busy hands:

Jean was knitting a Drop Stitch Scarf with yarn found at Tuesday Morning.

Dee Dee worked on the binding of her Winter Quilt.

Deborah found MORE dark blue diamonds to quilt!

Ruth B. put in some more stitches on her fall colors scarf.

Gayle was binding a new quilt that she made.

Ruth S. worked on the binding for the quilt she made last summer.

Ella played around with the layout of her new Stash Quilt.

Joanna and Joy got in on the action.

This photo was shot at an angle...

....  But this one was a bit better centered.

Joy's "design floor" is somewhat hard on the knees.  (Sorry, Joanna!)

Joy is still stitching away at the binding of her Crumb Quilt.  BIG news!!  She turned the 1st corner today!

Busy hands aside, we took a break for Show and Tell:

Joanna shared the quilt plan that she drew up based on a photo that Ella  found on the internet.  The pattern is called Kitchen Window from Practical Guide to Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman.

Ella showed off the final layout of her new quilt.

We took a quick trip to Ruth B.'s studio closet via her iPad.  It looks FABULOUS!!!  Nicely organized.

Nice shot of Ruth, but the closet overhaul didn't show up so well.

Deborah shared her newest quilt top.  Safe to say... her sister is going to LOVE it!!!

This photo shows a close-up of Amanda Murphy's Fizz pattern.

Here's a better shot of Jean's fun scarf.

This photo shows Gayle at the patriotic photo wall down in Fayetteville.  She made the FRONT PAGE of the charity's website.  Congrats, Gayle!!!  (Hopefully, Ella will provide the link for a closer look.)

Here's Gayle's most recent Donation Quilt.  So bright and cheery!!

This photo shows a better look at the quilt that Ruth S. made last summer.  Quilted by Gayle, so pretty!

After Show and Tell, we got a bit more work done on our projects before negotiations over a lunch place began.  We started the process a bit early so that Joy could leave on time for work.  Britt joined some of the others, as several had errand and such.  I'm sure it was DE-lish!

Until next time...
Happy Quilting!!!
