6/8/17: CCLQ @ Cheryl's

Five lovely quilters meeting on this date
The first one said, why is everyone so late?
The second said, must be Schumann's Resonance
The third one said that makes no sense
The fourth one said, let's sew and sew and sew
The fifth one said, my stitching is so slow
The sun shined bright
It was time for lunch
So five lovely quilters ventured out for a munch.šŸ˜Š

Once again the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters are up to their creative pursuits.  This week five lovely quilters met at Cheryl's house. Cheryl served doubly delicious local strawberries and homemade cookies.

Cheryl's garden looks lovely!

 Inspiration is everywhere!

The new patches for the UNC Police Department  finally arrived!  Deborah will deliver this police support quilt next week.

Britt was busy trimming blocks for the Dot to Dot quilt from Nancy Mahoney's class.

DeeDee's art quilt group has a curved piecing and reed challenge.  This octopus design may be a possibility.
Cheryl was deconstructing blocks for the wedding quilt. She plans to re-configure this quilt on the design wall to get the colors just right.

Joanna made these delightful tote bags. She shared a time saving tip: trace the pattern on to one sided iron-on interfacing and then fuse to fabric, cut, then sew!

Deborah is almost finished with the wool appliquĆ© sewing kit.

Britt shared that her mom is making a wool appliquĆ© quilt using a Sue Spargo pattern.

The CCLQ quilters love getting our weekly text messages from Ruth S!  We miss you Ruth!

Ruth S shared this photo of her niece, Kerri with Jackson's color quilt.

Ruth S also shared this photo of her very first appliquĆ© quilt made in 2007. She promised something new next week!

Five lovely quilters dined outside at Chopt, a salad restaurant near Trader Joe's in Chapel Hill. Zoe's restaurant is opening next door to Chopt.

Until next week.....for some Quilty inspiration...you might want to click on this link to see a spectrogram calendar of Schumann's Resonances. Perhaps our next challenge: Art inspired by science?
