6/20/17: CCLQ @ Joanna's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week nine quilters met Joanna's.  We were treated to yummy snickerdoodle cookies, coffee and fruit. There's been lots going on, so enjoy reading this blog.  DeeDee opened the meeting with scheduling for the next three months.

Joy joined us today and modeled a new, colorful floral skirt that she made.

Joy finished this wonderful scrap quilt!

Joy put up this fun quilt on Joanna's design wall. It's from the June Quilt a Long from crazymomquilts . Click on the link to see the directions for this quilt.

Linda and Ella had a play date at Ella's sewing room. The group was eager to see what they made.  Maybe next week?

Joanna completed the quilting on Candy's donation quilt.

Cheryl deconstructed the wedding quilt and removed the bird fabric.  She plans to add some thin red strips.

Cheryl drafted blocks for her barn quilts to go on her backyard shed.

Candy made another quilt to sell at her daughter's collective market.

Deborah made a tote bag using Bosal and Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorial.  This tutorial is in two parts on YouTube.

Interior of the bag with a pocket...the tutorial doesn't have an inside pocket but it's easy to add one.

Joanna models two handbags that she made.

This bag is large enough for an iPad.

DeeDee sewed this weekend and had some "continuous rearranging" on the design wall.

Joy trimmed some scraps and Ruth brought fabric to share for making more  quilts! Why does Ruth have a big smile on her face?   Her house is now on the market!
Ruth shared this color full fabric with the group.

Quote of the week from our own DeeDee:  "There are no mistakes [in designing a quilt]...only continuous rearranging!"

Until next week....enjoy continuous rearranging!
