Dec. 9th @ Carol's Christmas House
This was followed by SHOW AND TELL...
CHERYL B. shared THIS incredible $16 TJ Maxx find:
LINDA brought her beautiful Sticks and Stones quilt. Look at the quilting that Joanna did:
Two compatible batiks grace the back of the quilt:
MARGARET had successful sales at Dana's Collective Market. SEW... she made more trivets...
... Microwave bowl holders made from fabrics she got at the Pineapple Fabrics warehouse sale...
... And a few ornaments:
Margaret also brought her new Bike Quilt. Joy quilted it with her favorite spiral template board:
Cheryl quilted this quilt that Margaret made of leftovers. This one will be for Matt:
GAYLE drew this pattern for a new wool applique:
Here is the beginning of the quilt with embellishment stitching done in the style of Sue Spargo:
RUTH had a TELL. Please help yourselves to the books she brought to share. She's moving to Durham in 11 days:
CAROL has been busy, but not doing a lot of quilting. Her daughter is getting married in 6 weeks:
She has been matching up scraps while watching Netflix:
She worked on binding this Christmas quilt for her grandson. Mindless sewing is all she can handle right now:
Carol made this Crumb Quilt for her daughter. Cheryl did the quilting on this one:
DEE DEE found this batik UFO in her closet:
It came with a TELL!! This quilt was started 3 years ago. It got lost in the closet. She gave it to Joanna 6 months ago to be quilted. Now, Dee Dee just needs to do the binding.
You can find the pattern for using 6.5" scraps at Missouri Star Quilt Company. It's called Window Pane 9-Patch. Here's the video link.
The 2 art quilts and the comfort quilt that Dee Dee is working on weren't ready for transport. Hopefully, we'll see them later on.
CANDY took supplies with her to Dana's new house, but they couldn't get to work because the deed couldn't be filed due to a courthouse closing for potential demonstrations in town. She JUST NOW finished the binding on her Josephine's Knot quilt:
The quilt is going to a fundraiser for a distant relative who has Stage 4 Colon Cancer. We hoping is brings in a nice amount:
Here is a close-up of the quilting:
BRITT brought her recently completed Geese Migration quilt top:
JOY had TWO quilt tops to share. Rainbow Picnic...
... And her A6 Mystery Quilt top:
She's almost finished with the binding on Bluff Quilt in Brown:
Joy had a TELL about Bluff Quilt in Blue. Long story short, DS2 fell in love with it and now he can have a hug anytime he'd like
SURPRISE!!!
What was in the bag???
Why, fabric, of course:
Cheryl has now 'kitted up" many of her fabrics into bags, with pattern included, ready for projects:
She has done the same with her quilt tops, pairing them with their backings so they are ready for quilting:
Cheryl obviously has a love affair with rainbow projects:
After lunch, those remaining, got down to the business of sewing:
Some by hand and some by machine:
There was a fair amount of chatting going on, as well:
This is a reminder of what Candy's microwave bowl holders look like before they are turned to the "right" side:
A wonderful time was had by all.
Until next time...
Happy Quilting!!!
