8/3/17: CCLQ at Jean's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. Six quilters met on August 3rd at Jean's lovely home.

Willie loves greeting the quilters and is ready to play ball with us!
Each time we meet at Jean's home, we are dazzled by her kitchen quilts!

Britt trims more triangles for geese migration quilt.
Cheryl B shared several awesome books by Yoko Saito.

Ella gladly shared this wonderful Lady of the Lake quilt top.  The group gave suggestions on border colors.

Britt gets into arranging blocks for the geese migration quilt.

Britt selected these neutrals for a quilt for her sister.

Britt will use this pattern as a basic guide for her sister's quilt. Her sister has sketched birds and branches to personalize this quilt. Can't wait to see how this evolves!

Jean shared this beautiful Hunter's Star quilt.

Jean also shared this blue square quilt that she made for a friend at Family House.
Deborah shared this photo from a Williams and Sonoma catalog featuring rugs with familiar quilt patterns. Quilts are in for clothing this fall too.  Deborah shared a tell about Elle magazine's feature of quilted jackets.  Here's an online link with young sexy models wearing quilted jackets. Be sure to look at the prices of these jackets!

Joanna had adventurous tales of the river boat cruise on the Ohio  and Mississippi Rivers.  Joanna worked on trimming up her lovely star quilt center.
Cheryl gave us a quick lesson on how to make hexagon blocks from a circle.  She's working on a commission quilt to finish an antique hexagon quilt.
Cheryl shared this charm pack which will be used for something beautiful I'm sure.

Jean, Britt and other quilters were headed to Pineapple Fabrics for a sale! If you didn't get to go, you can click on the link and shop online!

Three quilters dined at Asian Moon Restaurant in Chatham County.

Until next time, happy quilting!
