11/9/17: CCLQ at Cheryl K's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!  This week a dozen lucky quilters met at Cheryl K's house.  Lots of fun chatter and show and tell so enjoy this wonderful and colorful blog of quilting fun!


Colorful autumn inspiration led the way to Cheryl's house.

Joanna created another color study with leaves and one of the delicious cookie Cheryl made!

Joy happily worked on half square triangles from left over Bluff blocks. Umm, what will Joy make from these blocks? 
DeeDee made this delightful donation quilt at the Saturday donation workshop.

DeeDee found some blocks that Ruth S gave her a while back an made this charming donation quilt. 

Ella had a tell....she's almost finished with Jonathan's baby quilt and chuckled as he's almost 12! We hope to see the quilt next week.
Candy made these wonderful placemats.

Candy reported about a wonderful quilt shop in Richmond, VA: Chadwick's Heirlooms.  Candy shared that this is a large quilt shop and well worth a visit to Richmond!

Cheryl finished several table runners which will be gifts for family in Argentina.

Joy shared this product which can be used to repair tiny tears in fabric on quilts. 

Cheryl used this clever method using the serpentine stitch on her machine to create a  nice quilting pattern.

Jean made this beautiful card for Britt. 

Jean used some leaves from Britt's yard to make this mono print design. 

Britt shared her butterflies "in flight" on the quilt for her niece. 


Ruth S shared this book.

Ruth found this wonderful fabric to make an autumn quilt.  She plans to make a block each month and by next autumn, she'll have a new quilt!

Ruth also found this charming small pattern for an appliqué quilt. 

Ruth S shared this adorable kitty fabric potholder her granddaughter made. 

Jean went to eight thrift shops in one day!  She  found more  sumptuous silks to deconstruct for silk fabric for a quilt. 
Tip of the day:  Jean recommended this YouTube by Leah Day on pressing seams open when making quilt tops.  Click here for the link to this video. Thank you Jean!


Jean found a lovely pattern for DeeDee!  

Cheryl showed the quilt for her daughter in law.  Joanna quilted this  one!

Joanna wins the award for most quilts quilted in one week!  She completed both Quilts for Vegas quilts too!

Ruth B worked on the binding for the bright Quilts for Vegas quilt. Ruth also reported that her kitchen now has wonderful wooden pull out shelves!

Gayle found some RedWork blocks and now plans to make a Christmas quilt. 

Ruth S made this adorable I-Spy donation quilt. 

Ruth composed a poem for the center of the quilt. 

Joanna shared this book.


Deborah completed the top of the Dapple Quilt using a pattern from Cabin Fever. She plans to add a border.
The group dined at Rasa at Chapel Hill North.
