1/4/18 - CCLQ @ Britt's... Or NOT!!!

Welcome to the 1st meeting of 2018 for the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  This week we were scheduled to meet at Britt's house, but the weather had other ideas.  Snow in Hillsborough, North Carolina means that nearly EVERYTHING is shut down:

At 10:27 PM last night, Britt wrote:

Hey gals,

I'm still willing to host if anyone is willing to drive over here...But at the moment we do have snow on the ground.

How about I give an update in the morning on how it looks outside my window tomorrow in the AM, and YOU let me know if you care to drive here.

I have a sneaking suspicion it will be a virtual quilt meeting. Bummer!

At 7:21 AM this morning, she was singing a different tune!

It's looking very white and unplowed on the road (and my driveway very long and slippery) over here so I'm canceling today's meeting.

Get in some quilting time at your house if you can. Most of all stay safe and warm!

Hugs,

Britt

At 8:39 AM this morning, Joy announced that she would be accepting texts and emails to see what everyone is working on during our Snow Day.

SEW...

I bring you the CCLQ Virtual Quilt Bee...

Linda started off Show and Tell by informing us that Gayle had her quilt.  Not long after, Gayle presented it, since she just finished quilting THIS quilt for Linda:

Gayle shared her crocheted hat, but you might notice that she couldn't stop there.  She added a scarf and mittens to make a set:

Throughout the day, members checked in with their quilted creations and progress on various projects...

Next up was Ella.  She made a quilted basket:

Britt chimed in with her border treatment for her 2016 Bonnie Hunter Mystery:

Deborah made 8 more Dapple blocks for the quilt she's working on:

Dee Dee submitted her entry.  She has a dresser scarf in the works:

Jean shared her brainstorm from the last day of 2017 and the aftermath was a reconfigured studio space...

Pressing and extra sewing machine area just inside the door:

Cutting and quilting area near the windows:

... Along with the progress she's made on The Beatles quilt:

Ruth B. announced that ALL MEMBERS should delete the rrb email address.

Ruth S. FINALLY got her photo to send sometime after dinner.  She had been trying to send it all day.  She has made progress on the Blue Quilt that she started last year:

Joy rounded out the day with photos of the last 3 (nearly completed) Trail Totes from her epic bag project...

... Along with a photo of That 80's Quilt, now loaded on the longarm and awaiting quilting:

Thanks for joining us for our Virtual Quilt Bee!!  Oh, and for your information...
