Which led to...

Show and Tell.

Our hostess started us off...

Gayle had a TELL about the old adage "never say never".  Pay close attention to the photo in her lap:

You see, she doesn't use patterns and she doesn't buy quilt kits.  Until... she saw THESE blocks from Missouri Star and THESE fabrics from Craftsy!!

Joy announced that this will be her LAST meeting for the foreseeable future, as her schedule has changed.  Members should look forward to a NEW blog mistress for CCLQ!!

The folding technique that Dee Dee used on this one gave it a Shibori-type appearance:

She divided the collected blocks into sets and asked to see what designs we could come up with:

It's easy to orient the blocks incorrectly:

We finally settled on a preliminary design.  It's the Straight Furrows setting, but Britt promised to try out some other layouts:

One of Gayle's birds came to say hello to the quilters:

Or would that be goodbye?  Nine of the twelve quilters packed up to leave for lunch at Anna Maria's Pizzeria in Carrboro Plaza.
