10/25/18 CCLQ at Candy’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  Today nine quilters and two sweet kittens met at Candy’s house.  Enjoy all the gorgeous quilts in today's blog.

Ruth finished this stunning Hunter's Star quilt with appliquéd border!  It's  king size and will go on her bed.

Ruth S laughed about his story and we did too.   She is making a fishing lure wall quilt for her son's fishing lodge at the Bluff.  Look closely and you can see her sketch of the quilt. She told her son about the quilt one week this summer and the next week when  she saw him, he asked...is the quilt done yet?
Another awesome quilt by Margaret. This will be a donation quilt for Hurricane families.

Kitty Cammie checks out Margaret's work.

Here's the pattern for Margaret's quilt.

DeeDee worked on reconstructing some colorful four patch blocks.

DeeDee created this lovely fabric print using some fall leaves.

Remember those Shop Hop fabrics Ella shared at Cheryl's house?  Well now they are part of a wonderful baby quilt for her great great nephew.  She will quilt it using a serpentine stitch like waves.
Candy made this pillow to go on her bed.

It looks quilted, however it's made from two cloth napkins.
Candy made two bags at  the Saturday workshop.

Nice work Candy!

Deborah finished the Mystery Bluff quilt top.  This quilt will be donated to the Hurricane Florence or Michael families.

Lynda finished the colorful throw quilt for her bed.
Margaret shared a novel idea....for sewing binding on big quilts, keep them folded in a bag and sew the binding without having all the bulk of the quilt to deal with.

Kitty Cammie jumps up to inspect DeeDee's work.

Ruth B reported the contractors are starting her bathroom project!

Joanna joined us for lunch.

The group had lunch at Asian Harbor in Mebane.

Until next time, happy quilting!
