10/4/18 CCLQ at Cheryl K's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week eleven quilters met at Cheryl K's home. Please accept this blogger's apology for getting this up and posted so late. Our trip to the Bluff generated so many beautiful photos, it took quite a while to sort, sequence and add captions about our wonderful adventure. We like to keep our blog in sequential order...so by now you've read the Bluff Blog and we hope it was worth the wait! Please know that our weekly meeting blog posts will eventually get out there to help us all reminisce about our fun time sharing in the world of sewing and making.

Everyone loved Margaret's completed Seeing Stars quilt top.

Margaret described her process in making this quilt. Directions are from a free quilt along by the Happy Quilter,  Melissa Corry.  Click on the Happy Quilter link and you can get the pattern for this quilt.

This quilt will be a wedding gift.

Jean has a new project for two Family House residents.  Jean created these embroidered blocks to put in a kit for a baby quilt. She is helping care-givers make baby quilts.  The father of this baby is a fire fighter.

The second care-giver baby quilt has a basketball theme.  These projects will be a surprise this week when Jean goes for her volunteer work at Family House.
Jean finished this quilt for her neighbor who love cats and is recovering from an illness.
Joanna attended the Augusta Cole workshop sponsored by DOQ and made this block.
Remember this quilt that so many of us want to make?

Thanks to Joanna...we now have the pattern.

Margaret went to the mountains and brought back a postcard about a quilt shop in Granite Falls, NC.

Margaret also shared this flyer about a quilt show.

These quilt shows are coming up in January 2019!  Mark your calendars. Thanks Margaret!

Ella shared this lovely fabric she purchased from a Shop Hop. She plans to make a baby quilt for her great great nephew.

Ella shared a photo of two beautiful appliqué flowers that she made and framed.

Linda brought the light stick from the concert that her daughter Margaret attended.  Linda shared more tells of the Bluff and the trip to Newark.

Linda finished the top of her dazzling Bluff Mystery Quilt.

Linda is almost finished with this wonderful baby quilt.

Lynda reported that she is working on her bubble quilt at home.  Today she shared the colorful fabrics sewn together for  the Half Rail Frenzy quilt.

Lynda plans to make a throw for her bed.

Photo of pattern....don't you love the name?

Candy shared the blocks she made for the Bluff Mystery Quilt. Candy reported that she's been busy working on the Queen Size Blooming Nine Patch...it's hogging her design wall.

Cheryl worked on the binding for a baby quilt.
Cheryl showed this Bohin marking tool.

DeeDee was happy to announce her sewing/crafting studio has been decluttered!

She found a cool fabric bag pattern.

Deborah shared a photo of her Bluff Mystery quilt and worked on binding on another quilt.

Ruth B shared that she's been working on her house and planning for the bathroom remodel.

The group had lunch at Zoe's kitchen in Chapel Hill.

Until next time, happy quilting.
