12/13/18: CCLQ at Margaret's

Today was blue and brown day for the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters...see if you can notice what folks were wearing. The intuitive nature of quilters makes it possible for us to select similar color clothing for our meetings without getting the memo.   :). Today brave quilters in an effort to escape cabin fever at our own homes,  met at Margaret’s lovely and welcoming log cabin home. The snow was not completed gone, but melted enough for quilters to get together!

One of Margaret's cats joined us today and of course found a quilt  to snuggle up on.
Margaret made this wonderful quilt from a fabric from MSQ. The pattern is from Quiltedtwins.com.

Margaret shared the completed beautiful star quilt.  Cheryl B quilted this and it will be a wedding gift for one of Matt's friends.
Check out this cool device that Candy is using for light and magnification.
It's a Beam N Read 4x Magnifier.   Yes..folks...click on the link and you can get one from Amazon.

Candy made this lovely towel for a gift for her sister  in Richmond.

Here's the pattern for the Double Diamonds.

Candy worked on binding a quilt with help from Margaret's kitty.

Candy added this stunning border to her Bluff Mystery quilt.

Jean sent these fusible forms for the 4x6 postcard project via Candy. Thanks Jean!
Margaret made this wonderful Christmas table runner.

Ella made this wonderful quilt from fabrics in her stash.  This quilt will go a family affected by Hurricane Florence. Ella loved the pattern so much, she plans to make one for herself.

Ella made a cross body bag for her sister.  Her sister loves it and uses it to hold her cellphone and other items.

Deborah made this Fat Sack for a gift for a friend.  This is a fun bag to make and takes a bit less than a yard of fabric. Click on the purple text to go to the free pattern.
Deborah finished knitting this hat for her granddaughter.  Deb will add a crocheted flower to the top.
Deborah also made the stocking on the right for her granddaughter. It's amazing when one collects fabric....four years later, that fabric comes in handy to make matching Christmas stockings.
Gayle's fabric is packed up right now, so she's started a new hobby...pebble art.  Gayle painted and added 3-D objects from nature to create this beautiful piece.

Ruth B finished her cross body bag.

DeeDee has been busy making lots of Christmas gifts. Here she shows some soup bowl holders.
DeeDee made some clever finger pot holders.

DeeDee found this wonderful cat fabric when renovating her studio.

Here's a flamingo pot holder for a friend who loves flamingos.

DeeDee is working on this cute travel sewing kit.

Here's the outside of the travel sewing kit. It will be a gift for  a friend who travels a lot.

This was a wonderful Christmas quilt displayed on Margaret's quilt stand.

Here's Margaret's hand knitted Christmas stocking.

Margaret recently traveled to near Charleston, SC and found this quilt shop in Summerville.

All good quilters need to purchase some souvenir fabric and Margaret found this cool cat fabric!

Margaret made these Christmas stockings for her family.

Every kitchen needs one of these signs!!!

Until next time,

"quilting is a gift you give to yourself."
