2/13/2020: CCLQ at Ella's

It's Thursday....and raining again! This week eight Cherry Creek Lane Quilters plus a special guest met at Ella's home. Ella's friend, Debbie was visiting today and we were all glad to see her! Even though it's raining again, there's a feeling of spring in the air with fun new quilt projects, talk of travels, and more.

The group was treated to delicious Valentine's Day treats made by Debbie and Barry.
Debbie shared this photo of a charming "shabby chic" purse she made for a friend.
Debbie has a new grandson and is making this adorable quilt for him.

Ella reported that her latest project is on the design wall.

Take a look at the beginning of Ella's lovely new butterfly quilt.

Candy shared her creative approach to not cutting the Indonesian batik fabric.
This beautiful batik has amazing detail. Do you see the bird?

Candy added interesting borders which accentuate the colors in the batik fabric.

Candy also found some fabric in her stash that she purchased several years ago which works for the back.

Gayle is making progress on her Chapel Hill quilt.  Gayle also shared that she has a new website to sell her artwork.   Check it out at https://www.gaylesparrowart.com .
Lynda shared the latest update on Britt's new sewing space.  This past weekend the family painted the sewing room.
Lynda also reported that she's making good progress on the elephant collage quilt.

Ruth B made a tree block for the Australian quilt block project.
Ruth has been busy making blocks for the black and white quilt for her son.
Ruth also reported that the Carolina Shop Hop will be happening March 26-28.  Details on this link
DeeDee has been busy making jar openers.
DeeDee used left over binding to edge her jar openers.
DeeDee attended a DOQ workshop for making Quilt of Valor quilts for women Vets.  The group made these colorful blocks.
The method they used included sewing diagonal strips on a light weight interfacing.
Carol has been cleaning up her sewing space and found a box of small half square triangles. The result is this happy vibrant quilt!

Debbie shared info about an upcoming bus tour to Missouri Star Quilt Company. Here's the link to more information about the  Quilt bus trip.

Deborah reported that she delivered the graduation quilt to Singing Stitches for quilting and plans to finish the Blooming Nine Patch quilt top by adding borders.

  1. I just love when quilty friends get together and share their progress! Chocolate dipped strawberries - delish!!!
The butterfly dance quilt will be spectacular! I can see why the Indonesian Batik begged not to be cut. I think I would have loved cutting it myself. It is GORGEOUS! I could go on and on commenting on every single project! I love the black and white pinwheels and would enjoy seeing what becomes of them. Chapel hill is my kind of project because of the cute houses in it! Well, maybe they are chapels.
