2/6/2020: CCLQ at Cheryl K’s

It’s a rainy February day but that didn’t stop the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters from having a fun weekly meeting. Cheryl K was our host today for a group of eleven quilters. With all these rainy days, quilters can spend more time creating, so take a look at what everyone has accomplished. Reminder to click on highlighted text for a link to websites for more information on fabric and patterns and more!
Cheryl started the collage technique for this piece featuring a loon with a sunset background.

Cheryl completed the top of this colorful baby quilt.

DeeDee had two "finishes" today. This wonderful donation quilt is made from a combo of Ella fabric and scraps from DeeDee's stash.

This is an awesome tree quilt which was a collaboration between Maggie and DeeDee. It will be a donation quilt for the Bunk Bed Project.
A closer look at the wonderful trees pieced by Maggie. If you want to make this quilt, Deborah has the pattern and will happy to share it.
Check out the lovely meandering quilting by Carol Holleman.

DeeDee also shared that Jordan Fabrics has a good tutorial on making a tree quilt.  Jordan Fabrics has a great collection of free patterns too.

Maggie completed this beautiful  kaleidoscope quilt.

Joanna reported that she's working on a triangle quilt and adjusting her days as a new HVAC system is installed in her home.
Carol made this pretty Valentine table runner. Pattern is from Missouri Star Quilting.

Carol found some orphan blocks and voila!  A charming quilt top was the result.
Deborah shared this tree block from Joy's email about the blocks for Australia.

Deborah also brought her Brickworks quilt made with Ella fabric. Joanna will do the quilting! Thanks to Ella for sharing so much fabric with everyone and to Joanna for quilting our wonderful collection of donation quilts.

Photo of the Brickworks quilt will be in a subsequent blogpost.

Lynda brought this book to share with the group.
Lynda has made wonderful progress on the elephant collage quilt.
A closer look at Lynda's wonderful piece.
Ruth S showed this new dragonflies appliqué pattern.

Ruth S made this fun pillow case for her grandson who loves fishing!

Candy is working on the Indonesian fabric quilt.  Candy also had an important announcement....her daughter is getting married!

Gayle was the first to make this original block for the Australian quilt project.
Gayle's block features eucalyptus leaves, a favorite food of Koalas.
Gayle is studying acrylic painting with Ginger Cook.  Ginger challenged the students with a still life and if student's succeeded they won a certificate. Congratulations to Gayle for entering this challenge and creating this masterpiece which won a certificate!

Until next time, stay dry and happy creating!
