Show and Tell...
photos and notes
Deborah: made a folding design wall from foam insulation and batting. Will send website with directions to group.
Joy: showed some adorable patchwork pin cushions. Finished her “scraps: a catalyst for creativity” word mini quilt. Showed her beautiful seascape quilt from Salt and Sand blog hop. Binding matches the colors in the quilt! Plans to use the pile of scraps from the seascape quilt to make a prize mini quilt. Also put another layer on quilt as you go donation block.
Lynda: Lots going on in her yard. Britt came over and helped her figure out how to trim the Chelsea Quilt. Has made four pillow tops from the bright squares quilt. The bright squares quilt is going to be quilted by Britt.
Cheryl K: went to Pineapple Fabrics last week and showed the lovely pile of fabrics she found there. Found just the right color fabrics for sashing for the crazy block quilt. Plans to use left over blocks to make pillows for the porch. Also found a lovely beige fabric for quilt backing. Working outside a lot and enjoying it.
Maggie: sewing binding a pretty donation quilt. Found four orphan blocks and made a cool quilt with them. Used a wavy line quilting pattern with the walking foot. Maggie is using ideas from the DOQ speaker in March to organize her sewing room. Working on shelves.
Ruth S: went to Capital Quilters Quilt Show in Raleigh last weekend. Saw a lot of lovely quilts! Working on a face quilt for her daughter to use in her school. The group voted on which glasses to use on her daughter’s face quilt..colorful glasses won!
Candy: plans to go to the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Efland with grandkids on Saturday.
Making a lovely quilted handbag for friend. Pattern from Shabby Fabric. Testing out the “quilt as you go” method with a couple of blocks.
