1/6/2022 CCLQ @ ZoomBee

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly meeting!

Carol  (missed what she said when my zoom restarted)

Joy reported progess on Project Quilting with scrap B&W piece that also has all the colors of the rainbow. Participating in the Declutter Challenge being run by Just Get It Done Quilts.

For the Archives prompt, she is thinking of disassembling her bulletin board:

Deb made a Lion and Lamb for the Grands.  A true global project in getting the supplies.  Found a good tutorial that instructed the fur be trimmed away 1/4 inch on edge to reduce seam bulk.

.

Britt has the Tiny Nines UFO from years past finally together (YEAH!) with a bit of doing and undoing to get the layout just right.  The 1.5" finished nine patches were inspired from a Crazy Mom's Quilt Blog from years past.

Cheryl is fighting her machine in making a Birds fabric table runner.  The thread keeps wanting to gather, even with the decorative stitches.  Better news is the Flowers top is together with the original sashing fabric being used for the backing.  Next up is the Blue & Brown 6.5" half and solid squares on point for a large quilt.

Candy popped in for a few minutes to share her latest completed quilt top.

Linda enjoyed our Saturday Virtual Sew day and is looking forward to the next scheduled day.  She continues to quilt on her Virginia top.  (Again I locked up so not sure if she had more to tell).

Maggie finished piecing the 3 yard Ice-cream Quilt and increased the size with an outer border to 55 x 70 so can work as a bunk bed quilt.

Lynda also finished piecing her Red Fish Quilt that she was cutting out on Saturday.  It's going to be a focal point for redoing the family room decor as either a wall hanging or a throw.  She is starting on a new project to make a Polinator Garden in her backyard.  She recomends the Prairie Moon Nursery for getting US native plants and seeds.

DeeDee's shared the progress on the disappearing 4-patch baby quilt.  So cute with Bee fabrics from both Pineapple and Cala Lilly.

Ruth reports after the "mish mash" of stuff on her MacBook missing emails all is now working.  Apple tech support was great to work with for a quick resolution now is back to binding on the Noah's Arc baby quilt.

Editor's Note:

Thanks for the collaboration, Maggie!  I appreciate you popping the notes into the post for me to add the photos. It was lovely to visit with you all today. Sorry that I'm so out of practice with my camera skills.  Also thank you to Deborah for volunteering to help with Zoom scheduling, as I'm sure Carol would appreciate the help given the technical difficulties she's encountered recently!

Until next time...
Go SEW!!!
