11/9/23: CCLQ at DeeDee’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry  Creek Lane Quilters.  On 11/9/23 the quilters met at DeeDee’s.  Lots of heartfelt show and tell to and the Round Robin is in full swing!

DeeDee provided some yummy snacks for bee today.

Cheryl showed some photos of quilt ideas for a baby quilt.

Here’s the block that Cheryl chose for Carol’s bag for the Round Robin.

Cheryl’s block for Carol.  The group decided that showing blocks is optional. If you feel inspired to share, please do so.  If you’d rather wait for the surprise at the end of the Round Robin…that’s fine too.

Ruth gave Maggie a mug caddy kit.

Ruth made a lovely table topper for a hostess gift at Thanksgiving dinner.

Ruth is sewing the binding on  this nice donation quilt.

Maggie shared the directions for making a dish rag mat.

Maggie also shared an idea for a tootsie pop tool.  See below.

Maggie showed a couple of lovely cloth baskets.

Maggie also made some cute zipper pouches for the Craft Sale.

For the holidays, Maggie made a table runner from left over blocks from last year’s DOQ Christmas block contest.

Carol has been busy decorating for Christmas.  She found some extra boxes of decorations and gave them to her children.

Candy shared some info about an upcoming Fiber Arts Show in Winston Salem.

Lynda shared these lovely blocks made with Tilda fabric.  Lynda also reported that her Featherweight machine is back and working great.

Deborah revealed a surprise quilt for Ruth S.  Members of the bee made the heart blocks, Deborah assembled them and Gayle quilted the quilt with beautiful flowers and hearts in record time. DeeDee provided the backing fabric.

Heartfelt!

DeeDee shared the American Quilter magazine.

DeeDee made 36 Christmas ornaments for the Crafts Fair.

DeeDee found this large cashmere sweater for $2 at a thrift shop.  She plans to repurpose it for a cardigan.

Gayle reported that she made three blocks for DeeDee’s round robin bag as she misread the directions.  She wrote a confession note.;) She’s working on the binding of her scallop quilt and the orange peel quilt.

Linda plans to work on the Round Robin project this weekend.

Ruth B has started her Round Robin project and is also working on the Kaffe Fassett quilt.

Until next time, happy quilting!
