6/27/24 CCLQ @ Gayle's

 Welcome!

Here are the highlights of this weeks meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

Gayle started us off by showing her Starry Night mixed media quilt that is center of attention in the living room.

Maggie showed a donation baby quilt using 2.5" strips.

Cheryl had a great cool trip to the VA mountains and was able to visit the 2 shops in Abingdon.  She got a blue floral linen to make some napkins and a solid blue for a yoga mat cover as well as a flannel print of deer.

Carol is staying out of the heat and sewing up a storm from her plethora of colorful scraps.

Ella had a bag full of books, patterns, and notions up for grabs with the unclaimed items going to the Tuesday Group and Guild.

Deedee found a bag she made but has not been using and after deconstructing the pockets and handles had a brain storm to use it as a grocery tote and put back the handles.  The bag construction was woven batik strips so it's great to see it get another life.  She also shared some heart blocks made of a new project.

Linda is giving Gayle some childrens fabrics to make donation placemats that will be distributed to children by the DOQG similar to the Meals on Wheels adult placemats.

Linda asked the group what she might be able to do with some Silk material she received from friends traveling in China.  The back looks as good as the front.

Until next week ...
