4/30/15 - CCLQ @ Jean's in Pittsboro

This week's CCLQ meeting was at Jean's house.  There were SEVEN members present and ONE guest.  It seemed rather strange to have such a small crowd.  Ruth B., Ruth S., Gayle, Cheryl K., and Linda don't know what they missed.

That's one reason we have this blog!  Through the wonders of technology, those missing members can grab their computer and a cup of their favorite drink and sit back to enjoy...

The AMAZING HOMEMADE pastry that Jean served.  (It was DE-lish!)

Oops!  NO PHOTO... use you imagination here...

... Along with all of the projects that the rest of us have been working on.

Joy added some more quilting to T3, but you can barely see it in this photo:

Deborah cut more pieces for her Lady of the Lake project:

Candy showed her "How NOT to Make a Convergence Quilt":

Personally, I think it should be called "Rainbow in a Blender"!!! :P

Joanna brought pieces of her new Storm at Sea quilt:

The paper-pieced center medallion...

A copy of the setting...

And the components of a single Storm at Sea block.

Dee Dee sat "de-boning" MORE shirts:

And... shared a pattern she bought during her recent trip to Delaware (?):

And the bracelet that Lisa made for her:

Oh, NO!!!  I forgot to get a picture of Ella!!  (Who remembered that Lisa still has her bracelet to make some adjustments!!)  Anyway... Ella wasn't working on anything today, so she sat patting our guest through the bulk of the meeting.

Our GUEST, Willie, was named honorary CCLQ member for the day.  He's shown here with Mom (in his UNC outfit donned for Candy's benefit.):

Jean made a new blouse out of some fabric she purchased on the recent NT Field Trip to Mary Jo's:

After Show and Tell, we took a studio tour to see what else Jean has been working on.  We walked past the "Wet" Studio:

There's a sink off to the LEFT, just out of view.

Take a look at the tools of the trade for a true Fabric Artist!

On the way to the "Dry" Studio:

Such a beautiful and well organized space!!

LOOK at all that thread storage!!! (A little secret... there's MORE thread just out of frame on the right AND a BIG bank of quilt books, too!!!)

Rulers are hung with "Command" hooks for easy access.

NOTE: The following project was begun LONG before Pepper Cory came to DOQ in April!!!

She's pulling from this bin of ties that she de-constructed in March.

The photo above shows Jean's bank of "classroom" machines for her Kid's Quilt Camp.
Prepare to be wowed and amazed by her Ballet Series hanging above the machines in the previous pic:

Until next time...
Quilt it!!!
