5/21/15 - CCLQ @ Joy's

Thank you to Joy for hosting today's meeting.  There were 9 members in attendance.  After everyone drifted in, we got down to the business of Show and Tell:

Not necessarily in the order in which we shared our projects...

Joy showed her Zentangle quilt, alongside Joanna's Zentangle drawings:

Here is a closer look at Joanna's AMAZING drawings:

And an EVEN CLOSER look:

Joanna worked on removing the paper foundations from her Storm at Sea paper-piecing project:

Ella brought her gifted saris to get some ideas of what she might do with them:

In the photo above, she is listening as Jean responses.

Jean offering suggestions...

While Joy snaps a picture of the BEAUTIFUL collection.

Gayle was caught mid-stitch (looking up to see about the commotion):

Here she is showing off this week's Donation Quilt:

Jean has been busy making more samples for her newest Kitchen Quilt:

She also shared a really slick trick that was shared by Britt (??) who found it on the internet:

Can you see the marks on Jean's thumb nail???

Those marks represent the stitch length that Jean is aiming for as she embellishes her squares.

Pretty slick trick!!!  Huh?!?

Jean also brought along a couple of books to add to the Zentangle exhibit:

I particularly like the hand prints on the cover:

And then she got down to the business of finishing her Circle Vest:

Dee Dee labeled her Missouri Star Quilt Co. blocks for ease of piecing (after layout):

Here she is, working away:

Candy was busy looking at books of Baby Quilts... Congrats! Grandma!!!

Deborah made progress on the quilting of her Grandmother's Lone Star quiilt:

Even though she didn't bring hers today, Deborah requested to see Joy's Lady of the Lake quilt:

Ruth worked on the triangles of her latest quilt:

When our lunch alarm rang, 5 of us were off to China Fuji.  Luckily, Britt was able to join us today!

NOTE:  Special thanks to Gayle for sharing her bumper crop of lettuce with us today.  I'm pretty sure that everyone is  having a BIG salad for dinner!!!  LOL

Until next time...
Quilt much???
