6/11/15 - CCLQ @ Gayle's

Thank you to Gayle for hosting this week's CCLQ meeting!!  There were 7 members present and the morning went something like this:

Coffee first!  Then we got down to the business of sewing (cutting, stitching, etc.)...

Jean ripped out the black on black side seams that warped her latest Kitchen Quilt:

Gayle was working on the binding of another Donation Quilt:

Dee Dee a favorite old T-shirt and some fabric from her stash to create a lounge dress:

Since it was an experiment, she just stitched her fabric to the shirt, in case it didn't work:

She added a kick pleat for wear-ability:

She used her watercolor pastels (?) and a water pen to create a color card for reference:

Joanna worked on a stitching project:

Here's the Donation Quilt that Gayle was binding:

Deborah showed us a photo from a 1993 quilt magazine that she WILL NOT be using as inspiration for the border on her Lady of the Lake Quilt:

Here's a close(r)-up shot so you can see more detail:

Ella appliqued a bee onto one of her Dining Room Quilts (while trying to stay awake in Steve's massive, extremely cozy, recliner:

Here's the stack of 45 Crumb Blocks (for a pillow sham project) that Joy has made since Sunday:

Gayle brought out Tommy's Big Boy Quilt to show:

Along with the 2 fabric books that she will give him for his July birthday:

Almost everyone had plans for after the meeting so we had a "J" Lunch at the NEW Monterrey's Mexican Grill in Carrboro Plaza.  Jean, Joanna, and Joy highly recommend it:

Until next time...
Go SEW!!!
