I'm scheduled to work ALL DAY. Sorry to miss TWO weeks in a row!!
My trusty "Assistant Editor" swooped in to fill you in on all the scoop...
Here's what the quilter's were doing while the editor was busy playing at work:
There were 7 members present at today's meeting. Ella was working on her appliqué and Ruth B. was knitting. No photos of either of them. :o((
Gayle's beautiful Log Cabin! Gayle shared how to make this strip pieced quilt! Quick and easy. She's already made 2!
Joanna's Mariners Compass center block. This will be surrounded by Storm at sea blocks and is sure to be dramatic and beautiful!
Deborah has made 54 of 72 Lady of the Lake blocks! Maybe soon she'll have a quilt top!
DeeDee's plan for baby quilt. Fabric will be batiks:
Jean is working with Ella on a top made from Indian scarf fabric.
The pattern for the garment.
Jean's exceptional art quilt! Lots of oohs and aahs for this one.
Jean shared an exciting collection of monoprints. She will teach us how to do this technique at DeeDee's Dye party!
More creative prints:
Jean created this using a credit card and toilet paper roll ! I think that's what she said!
This was printed on deli paper then fused on to light weight Pelon interfacing.
This is the note that arrived once the pictures (FINALLY) stopped coming:
Hi,
We missed you today! I sent a lot of photos with a blurb about them. I probably sent way too many of Jean's prints! I got carried away.
We had lunch at Fiesta Grill.
Hope to see you next week!
Deborah
Editor's Response:
Thanks, Deborah, for picking up the slack. It's so nice to have a record of our meetings. The entire Bee enjoys seeing what we are working on and I appreciate that you took the time to send pictures and info today. You make my posts more interesting to read for the meetings that I am unable to attend. Otherwise, it's just words on a page instead of letting the PICTURES say it all.
Thank you, again!
The Joy Quilter
