1/26/16 - NT Nights @ Hboro Library

YES!!!  We ARE booked for the library on Tuesday, January 26th.  The BIG question will be how many of us will choose to attend???

Only time will tell...

If you are coming, PLEASE be extra careful (in case there is snow/ice left on the roads!!)

Whoever shows up (my transportation expert says that we shouldn't have any problems) will be represented in an updated version of this post.

Guess what?!

There were FIVE members and TWO guests at this months meeting.  Welcome, Leslie and Bo!!  We are SEW pleased that you have joined us.

Here's what everyone was working on or had to show...

Joy was working on a new project:

 Leslie brought along a book...

And TWO projects for us to take a look at!

First, her Christmas Tree quilt (which was her first applique project!) that she wanted to get quilting suggestions to complete the quilt.  Margaret and Joy were able to offer some good suggestions:

Next, here she is with her second quilt (which she also wanted help with a quilting plan.)  Sorry!  I didn't get the name of the quilt pattern:

Bo loves dragonflies and I couldn't resist a photo of her beautiful pin:

She quilted this Donation Quilt (?) with a puffy cloud pantogragh:

This (client quilt) was quilted with a dragonfly motif.  Sorry!  No close-up available:

Somehow, I missed getting a photo of Bo, herself!!  :o((

Britt had a beautiful bird block that she made for a friend:

Margaret brought along her (adapted) Bluff Mystery Quilt:

LOVE it with the 9-Patch cornerstones.  What a GREAT modification to the pattern!!

Here's a closer shot of the String Quilt with the puffy cloud quilting:

Annelise worked on a Graduation Quilt:

Karen helped Leslie by drawing out a possible quilting design for her rectangle quilt:

This is a close-up of the design:

Britt FINALLY decided on a quilt pattern for her sister in New Zealand:

Margaret ripped out errant seams on the Broken Dishes portion of her Jamestown Landing quilt.  She started the quilt in a Bonnie Hunter workshop offered by Durham Orange Quilters Guild.

Britt also had a Bonnie Hunter design.  This is the 2015 Winter Mystery, Allietare!

She is trying to determine her border treatment:

Here's Britt as she was laying out quilt blocks:

ETA... After the meeting...

Carol:

I'm out of commission for awhile. Broke my left ankle and tibia from slip on ice. Ortho will decide Monday if I need surgery. Resting ok after fractures reduced on Monday. Moving in with my son and fiancé until this fixed. At least 6 weeks no weight bearing. Happy quilting to all and look forward to viewing the blog to see your creations.

** Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Carol. It's wonderful that you have caregivers living right next door!!

Linda reports:

Sorry I didn't make it.  I've been sitting around in sweats for the past few days since I haven't had to go to work. I was too lazy to get dressed last night to come to the library!  But I did quite a bit of sewing at home.  My daughter's quilt is now finished, and I'm working on the binding of my shot cotton quilt.

** Please keep Margaret in your thoughts, as she undergoes hip replacement surgery on Monday.  She will be in the hospital for about 3 days afterwards and will then recover at home.

Until next time...
Go SEW!!!
