The gift worked magic to get Dee Dee out of the slump that she's been in... she's made 4 sketches, done some painting, and made that quilt that we just saw!!

Linda completed the top of the Presto Change-o quilt that she was laying out at our Family House Sew Day:
The quilt will be given to her great niece who is having surgery next month. Linda plans to quilt it on her home sewing machine and finish it in time the surgery.
Candy declared that Lilly was her show and tell, but then she shared her new Wonderfil Thread. It was purchased at Quilt Con:
The Canadian company makes a variety of threads, but this 100 weight thread is GREAT for ditch quilting and machine applique.
Ruth was hoping to have something to share, but was interrupted.
TELL: Ruth completed the bag that she was making for Rachel, but forgot to take a picture before mailing it off. :o((
She did show us the progress she has made on her "busy work" applique quilt. She is having fun with it:
TELL: Ruth bought a page of instructions at Quilt Con. Quick HSTs using strips to make many at a time.
** It was pointed out that the resulting HSTs would end up with bias on the outside of the blocks.
Gayle (apparently) overbought when collecting the Paula Nadelstern panels for the 18 decorative balls that she made last year!! With the leftovers from that project, she made this magnificent 110 x 110 quilt:

We enjoyed a delicious meal with a number of Mexican-themed items. Along with the food, we enjoyed an easy conversation in each other's company.
Miscellaneous News:
Candy told us that Mary Jo of Mary Jo's Cloth Store passed away on Thursday at the age of 85. (She worked until she was 80!!)
Someone (Jean?) mentioned that Thimble Pleasures Quilts can be found on Facebook. Julie is selling shop samples.
Per Carol, Cheryl B.'s longarm was out of commission for several months, she's had the flu TWICE, and it's piano competition season. We may see her again in June!
Per Jean, Ruth S. finished quilting a baby quilt and (according to her email) it looks GREAT! She is on the way to Florida. The binding is on and will be stitched down during the trip.
REMINDER: Please let Britt know what YOU plan to do concerning April's NT Shop Hop.
Many minutes went by and we could delay our departure no more.
