3/23/17: CCLQ @ Jean's

Spring is here and there's so much visual inspiration for quilters!  I must have spring fever because this post is long overdue, anyway here's what happened two weeks ago with the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!

Five quilters met at Jean's home and throughly enjoyed the blueberry cake along with coffee and tea. Who had that first mystery slice?  Hmmm...

We are always inspired by Jean's lovely kitchen quilts.
Candy showed this quilt top that she recently found in her sewing room.  She made it several years ago and plans to finish it to send to her friend that she visited in Athens, GA last week.

Here's another view of Candy's quilt.

Jean found this idea for DeeDee and Deborah to make using their felting techniques...maybe for Halloween next year? Maybe not.

Ruth B showed her progress on the blocks for the Twirling in Reverse Quilt.  Looking good Ruth!

Another view of Ruth's quilt...
Here's the pattern Ruth used for her quilt..lots of tiny half square triangles in this one!

Jean shared this wonderful background quilted piece that she made.  She plans to make another bird quilt wall hanging with this.

Jean and Cheryl take a closer look.

Cheryl had exciting news today!  Her son is getting married!!  Here's some fabric she plans to use to make a wedding quilt.

Cheryl plans to use this pattern for the wedding quilt.

The bird fabric is the focus fabric....here are some other fabrics that might work.

Willie was so excited to see his quilt lady friends!
Candy worked on the binding of a Quilt of Valor quilt.

This QOV was made by Sarah Porreca from the Tuesday group.

Close up of the quilting...

The group had a tasty lunch at the Breakaway Cafe at the entrance to Briar Chapel.

Until next week....make something and have fun whatever you do!
