3/28/17 - NT Nights @ Hboro Library

Welcome to the March meeting of NT Nights quilt bee!!  Six members met at the Hillsborough Library.  It was a small crowd, but we had a wonderful time.

Joy started in with the photos right away by laying out her Show and Tell upon arrival...

Fun and Fast Bargello Wall Hanging from her class at A Mountain Quilt Fest in Pigeon Forge, TN on the LEFT and her ONE completed En Provence block from Bonnie Hunter's 2016 Winter Mystery on the RIGHT:

Margaret was wandering around looking at the artwork, but came in and laid out her Silent Auction quilt for Symposium...

... and got right to work on binding a quilt:

Carol arrived and got busy with quilt binding, too:

Margaret took these photos on a recent trip to Wilmington, NC:

The pouch showcased decorative stitches and a lace-edged zipper:

Leslie shared her newly completed quilt top:

She also posed with Bo, who quilted her Christmas wall hanging:

Britt arrived with her current art quilt:

Obviously, it's still in progress:

Britt also brought along her sample from the weekend's Ruler Class at Beginnings Quilt Shop with Patsy Thompson:

Here is a closer look at the various designs...

... And Britt pointed out how the 3 rulers shown worked:

You may (or may not) be able to see how she used them within the confines of a square, for people who work with more traditional quilt block designs:

The last hour of the class was spent working on this Mandala, but the poor lighting made photography challenging:

Bo recently churned out this incredible 'puzzle style' T-shirt Quilt:

Smile!!!

Bo also recently completed this Christmas Quilt for a client:

Look at the quilting design:

Anybody remember the story on this quilt photo???

If memory serves, Margaret is planning to make this for DS2:

Leslie presented some border options for Grace's Quilt...

Option One:

Option Two:

Discussion ensued regarding the different shapes and spacing. Personally, I'd like to see a "stop border" before the triangle border.

Margaret recently got back this Triangle Quilt, made with
Toes in the Sand pattern and Hex and More ruler from Julie at Jaybird Quilts.  I believe she said that it was quilted by Cheryl Breeze, who we haven't seen in quite a while:

She has completed this Quilt of Valor donation quilt:

All in all, a wonderful evening.  :o))

Until next time...
Quilt happy!!!
