9/13/18: CCLQ at Candy's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  Eight quilters met at Candy's home this week.  We were all grateful that the weather was not so bad so we could get together and share our wonderful interest of fabric, stitching, and quilts. We discussed how we were preparing for Hurricane Florence.  DeeDee brought wonderful surprises for everyone!  Read on the find out about the surprises.

DeeDee gave this marvelous moonlight panel to Ella.

DeeDee gave this apple fabric to Deborah to go with her fruit and vegetable fabric collection.

Deborah shared this wonderful quilt made by Cynthia Latta, our past DOQ president.   Cynthia made this quilt for the Camp New Hope Auction and Deborah's sister-in-law won the bid on this lovely quilt.   Deborah is adding a sleeve so her sister-in-law can hang the quilt in her home.

Candy's show was the new navy quilt on her bed with the lovely yellow triangle bed runner.

This wonderful wall quilt matches the bed runner.

Meow...interesting angle on DeeDee's latest art quilt project.
Ruth and Candy look at the schedule for the next few months.

Candy added the drawstring to her mini-quilt block bag.

Callie the kitten and DeeDee have some fun!

Margaret revealed more stunning stars for her star quilt.
Linda H joined us today since the school system was closed in preparation for the storm. Linda is currently working on a baby quilt for a co-worker.  The nursery theme is Peter Rabbit and Linda just happened to have a collection of 15 Peter Rabbit fabrics in her fabric stash! Lucky baby!

More news from Linda H:  she rescued a kitten from the parking lot at Walgreens.  She is fostering this kitten and named him Wally.

Callie cuddled up on the New Hope Quilt.

DeeDee is making an art quilt inspired by the artist Paul Klee

Surprise!  DeeDee cleaned out her sewing space and brought this fabric to share!

Ruth, Candy and Ella take a closer look and make selections.

DeeDee gave Lynda this selection of Martha Negley fabrics.   Lynda has a plan for a quilt using these fabrics.

Lynda went shopping at Wish Upon a Quilt in Raleigh with Britt and found these wonderful border fabrics for her Kaffe Fassett quilt.

Who's that peeking behind the door? Could it be Chip?

Chip and Callie frollic at the end of the meeting!
Quilters had lunch at Stir King in Mebane, NC.

Until next time, be safe during the storm and happy quilting.
