SHOW AND TELL...

Joy modeled her new shirt:

Ella had a TELL (and it was funny.)  The person in front of her in line at Food Lion "Paid it Forward." Not funny.  Her purchase?  ONE green pepper.  TOO funny!!!  She was laughing at the telling:

She also had a SHOW - She completed an old UFO.  It's her 2005 Kansas Shop Hop Quilt:

Dee Dee showed off the small pin cushion (from her very own scraps) that Joy made to fit inside the throat of the sewing machine:

She also had a TELL - Dee Dee is making a robe from flannel purchased at Pineapple Fabrics:

Here is the pattern and a fabric sample:

This is Dee Dee's entry for the 15 x 15 Red and White Challenge with the Original Works group:

Here is a close-up of the quilt inspired by the art of Mark Rothko:

Dee Dee told us about the Sewing and Fiber "Thing" in Sanford.

Carol made a quilt for her newest grandson:

The nursery is blue and gray, but Mom's favorite color is green:

Carol worked on Gavin's knit blanket, but assured us that he will get a quilt with his name on it later:

Lynda worked on binding her recently completed quilt.  She's showing it while telling the group that it's her first foray into Free Motion Quilting.  It's got a scrappy binding and Lynda plans to use it as a table topper:

People complained that they didn't get to see Joy's new shirt...

... SEW... She modeled it...

... For EVERYONE:

She then took her turn telling about her stop on the upcoming Black and White Blog Hop with Carla at Creatin' in the Sticks:

Joy is excited about starting a new quilt:

She also brought her newly completed Blooming 9-Patch top:

Britt held it up on the stairs for everyone to get a better look:

Shakespeare in the Park will be Joy's next project...

Using these turquoise and lavender fabrics:

Gayle had a BIG TELL - Inspections on the new house were good and they will close on the 24 and move on the 26th!!!  She is very happy to be finishing the last few things on their current home in order to get it ready to sell:

Ruth B. had a TELL - She enjoyed a luxuriously slow morning of her first FREE day in ages... Only to get a phone call for the tile guy to stop by. Then, the inspector came for the electrical inspection. Next, a friend came by to go rug shopping.  And on and on, it went!

The good news is that the NEW powder room has a sink and a toilet!!  The master bath is awaiting tile.  Ruth will paint the vanity once the new drawers are installed.

Here she is, recounting the whole tale:

Margaret bought stuff at the show in Sanford:

This is the Binding Tool...

... That Margaret used to make this 79 x 79 scrappy quilt:

She also finished a Donation Quilt:

LOOK at her walking foot quilting design:

Jean made this quilt top using fabric from a Pineapple Quilts deal called "Make It Mine" same-day-sale price and a pattern that Joanna figured out for Ella:

She is trying something NEW for her Crossbody Bag Kits:

Anita Good Designs with embroidered outlines and painted details:

This is an example of what she's doing:

If memory serves, this is another new-to-Jean technique:

She is also painting and embroidering on paper bags:

The technique used makes the paper behave like fabric:

Making MORE pockets from abandoned hand dyes:

Jean decided that last week's project needed to be cut apart for additional Crossbody Bag pockets:

Another embroidery on hand dyed fabric:

This is a GIANT bag of scraps from Pineapple Fabrics for our Donation Quilt work:

Jean also reported that she mailed off our postcards for the Stay PAWSative project.  Thanks, Jean!!

Britt is FINGER PAINTING with oils:

She sent off a fabric post card (or two or three?), but also made a larger version to keep for herself:

Here's another of her paintings, this one is more of a landscape:

Britt succumbed to a recent Craftsy SALE:

She also had a TELL - Her 2nd Blooming 9-Patch is nearly a completed quilt top.  :o))

Until next time...
Gather with friends!!!
