1/3/19 - CCLQ @ Jean's

Welcome to the first CCLQ meeting of 2019!!  Today we were at Jean's house.  You know what that means, don't you?!?!

There was a "Kitchen Quilt" to greet us:

There were home baked treats:

 And...

We got to see our Christmas Tree Challenge quilt in it's new home:

We also got to see more of Jean's machine embroidery work:

Margaret worked on some prep work:

Who quilted this Wonky Nine Patch...

... Margaret did:

Ruth had a TELL... Her NEW powder room is coming along:

Look at the adorable backing fabric:

Candy busied herself with stitching some binding:

Jean is nearly finished with her QAYG donation blocks:

Here is the box of strips that Jean got from Pineapple Fabrics for our work on donation quilts:

She made a couple of postcards for the Art Fundraiser at Craft Napa:

Here's a close-up of the adorable embroideries Jean stitched out:

This is a better look at her train banner shown earlier:

Jean also stitched out a Lady Nutcracker to add to one of her bags:

These are her newest embroidery discs:

Joanna finished her QAYG blocks:

She's been working on Microwave Bowl Holders:

Being Joanna, she came up with another way to make them:

This template adds to the ease of production:

Someone has been working on free-motion quilting...

Lynda explained the steps she used on this nearly completed quilt:

Joy made a post card for the auction, too.  Here's the BACK:

This is the FRONT.  All made using scraps from Jean:

Dee Dee laid out the assortment that she made:

I'm sure that you would agree they are all lovely:

Line up for the individual close-ups...

LOVE those painted dots:

Dee Dee quilted out this stamped butterfly:

This one may or may not be upside down:

And lastly, one done using Dendritic Painting:

A mixture of fronts and backs:

Ella didn't have any Show and Tell today:

Cheryl K. is back from Ohio:

Look what she finished putting together:

It's her Blooming 9-Patch quilt top:

Here's a closer look:

She thought she would use this for her backing, but isn't sure:

Joy forgot to leave the back plain, but added the details:

Margaret shared the adorable cat pillow she in Keepsake Quilting:

Joy was the lucky recipient of one of Dee Dee's post cards:

Candy finished the binding on Dee Dee's Windowpane D9P.  Joanna declined joining the photo, but she was the quilter:

Photographing the quilting design was rather challenging:

Winter scene quilt from outside Jean's studio:

Joy was instructed to fill a scrap bag from the studio scrap box:

This is the embroidery project that Jean has in the works:

It's looking really good:

Another piecing project has begun:

One last look at the table topper and the quilters are off to lunch:

Until next time...
