1/17/19 - CCLQ @ Joanna's

Welcome to the next meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilt Bee!!  Today's meeting was hosted by Joanna.  Thank you for opening your "mountain retreat" for those who were able to attend.

Did I say meeting?

It turned out to be a PARTY!!!  Happy Birthday, Ruth B!!!

Joy and the Junior Quilter missed out on that fun.  :o((

Thanks for this photo of our Birthday Girl, Jean:

Candy wants to know if I post a video?  Let's see:

Blow out the candles, Ruthie:

Oh, well.  Enough with the festivities... Show us the QUILTS!!!  :P

Joanna had this quilt draped over the longarm:

This one was draped over the quilt rack:

Here is a close-up of Dee Dee's new art piece:

Thanks to Candy, the Junior Quilter busied herself by playing with some fabric scraps:

The Birthday Girl got a gift from Dee Dee:

Dee Dee saved one of her Kitty blocks for this purr-pose:

Here they are together with the darling Kitty Wall Hanging:

Margaret worked on some hand piecing:

Candy stitched some binding...

... As did Ruth S:

Meanwhile, Joanna brought out some vintage blocks to occupy more of the Junior Quilter's time:

Candy showed off the border quilting of the Bluff Mystery:

Here's a close-up:

This is the back, to give you a better idea of the design:

Cheryl K. is relaxed from her resent vacation:

Joy stitched up a small quilt top for use in a Quilted Basket:

Margaret is laughing...

... at Ella, who is playing peek-a-boo with the Junior Quilter:

Ella had a TELL - There's no need to bring fabric to our upcoming Pot Luck/Sew Day.  She has PLENTY for us to use for the Donation Quilts that we will be making:

Next, we went on a field trip!  :o))

THIS lovely quilt was Joanna's Show and Tell for today:

Here is is, from a different angle:

We all got a BIG laugh when the Junior Quilter decided to try out the quilt and then gave it the "Bounce Test":

Here's Joanna with an interesting quilt book:

Ruth S. and the quilt she is binding for the Donation Group:

Smile, Ruth B!!  Get happy.  It's your birthday:

The recipients of the Holiday Wall Hanging made a custom thank you card for Jean:

Jean is trying something NEW by painting machine embroidery:

The quilt will have window pane sashing:

Those sashing pieces are embroidered, too:

Ella has been waiting for this day for MONTHS!!!  The Junior Quilter made Ella's day when she let her hold her for a little while near the end of the meeting:

Joy and the Junior Quilter bugged out before the lunch discussion, but surely the group went to Bennett Point Grille.  We missed it.

:o((

Until next time...
Snuggle in a quilt!!!
