8/29/19: CCLQ at Deborah's

Welcome to the August 29th meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week twelve quilters met at Deborah's home. What a creative group! Not only do our members design and make quilts, we also create our own fabric, make clothing, create beautiful embroidered pieces, embellish clothing, paint, knit and crochet.  In terms of artistic pursuits, you name it and someone in our group has explored that medium! Get ready for a lot of photos of the creative process at it's best!

Carol was the winner of the pineapple charm!  Ella's friend Debbie sent Ella this charm to give to the person who spent the most at the Pineapple Fabric sale.  The charm will get passed on to the winner at the next Pineapple Fabric sale. Ladies, start saving your pennies now!

Carol made these adorable mug rugs with fabric from Pineapple.

Carol created some spooky Halloween snack mats for her grand children.
Ella shared this wonderful donation quilt.
Deborah completed sewing the Blooming Nine Patch top!  She plans to add borders to make it a queen sized quilt.
Jean showed a sample of a Christmas stocking that our group will make for US Service members on  Sept. 12 at Family House.
Jean made this stunning star quilt for a guest at Family House.
Jean shared this idea via her iPhone about a technique to cover holes in sweaters.   If you have a hole in a  sweater, you simply add bits of fabric and embroider over it!  Cool idea!
Here's a full view iPhone photo of someone modeling an embellished sweater.
Ruth B completed this lovely blue and yellow quilt top.   The center was already pieced and Ruth added borders. It will be a donation quilt.

Cheryl K finished this colorful baby quilt which for her daughter in law's brother's new baby.
