8/15/19: CCLQ at Joanna’s

The Cherry Creek Lane Quilters met this week at Joanna’s home. Today eleven quilters plus one junior quilter attended.  Lots of excitement was in the air as several quilters were going on a road trip to Pineapple Fabrics for the quarterly sale after our morning meeting!

Candy brought postcards for everyone from the NC Museum of History Quilt exhibit.  She encouraged everyone to attend as it was a wonderful exhibit!  Here's a link about the exhibit.
Ella was so happy her friend Debbie came to visit and they plan to go shopping at Pineapple Fabrics! Debbie started a new quilt at Ella's last night.
Ella showed her first baby quilt made for her grandson who loved this quilt so much that the batting bunched up. Ella has taken it apart ( it was hand quilted) and reassembled and plans to machine quilt it! She used Wizard of Oz fabric.

Candy worked on binding and shared the Quilt Exhibit post cards.
This is a stunning quilt by Joanna.  Candy is doing the binding on this one.
Here's the beginning of an interesting quilt on Joanna's design wall.
Carol shared the embroidered handkerchiefs for her son's wedding.
Ruth shared some beautiful rayon batik from Quilt Expo.  She plans to make a blouse.
This is not the best photo of Joy's awesome T-shirt quilt for her niece's wedding. Please refer to previous blog photos for the full impact of this wonderful T-shirt quilt.
Here's another look at Joy's wonderful quilting and this quilt has a scrumptious backing of plush fabric.
Joanna has this colorful modern quilt on her design wall and asked advice for advice on arrangement.
Gayle had fun stories to tell about her visit to see her grandson.  She made some fabric grocery bags and sent a photo last week.
Gayle made this adorable baby quilt.
Our Jr. Quilter immediately tried out Gayle's quilt!
Lynda started the latest Sue Spargo quilt block. It's a pomegranate tree with a monkey.
Margaret made this awesome donation quilt.
Joanna had this quilt on draped over her long arm machine. It was an exercise in curved piecing from a Craftsy class.

Deborah reported that she's working on the last 64 blocks of the Blooming Nine Patch. Soon she'll have a big show!

Until next time, happy quilting!!!!
