9/5/19: CCLQ at DeeDee's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  On September 5th a dozen quilters plus our Jr. Quilter met at DeeDee's home.  The group signed up for the upcoming three months. Check the blog for the updated calendar. Enjoy seeing the beautiful work by this group of friends.  A couple of links are included for patterns and tutorials.

Today is Jean's birthday!  Happy happy birthday Jean!
Deborah made a custom grocery fat sack for Jean.   Pattern was from Terri Atkinson
Jean completed her beautiful embroidered and hand painted botanical quilt.

Joanna shared the pattern for half-square triangles from Lee Heinrich's  "Freshly Pieced."
Joanna found this wonderful fabric at Pineapple Fabrics and plans to make a Wedding Chuppah (canopy) for her  grand-daughter's wedding.

Here's the concept for the Chuppah.  Joanna plans to paint the concentric circles on the turquoise fabric.

Gayle found just the right fabric to complete a pillow made from her gelli printed fabrics.  Enjoy the gallery of photos that follow of Gayle's latest prints.

Gayle made this beautiful journal from gelli printed fabrics.

Gayle appliquéd various shapes cut from printed fabric onto a background piece.

Gayle completed this colorful donation quilt.

Ella had a wonderful story to tell about her favorite turquoise necklace from her grandson.

Ella created this lovely bag to match her necklace.
Candy made a colorful bag using the pattern from Ella's bag.

Margaret shared her completed iron tote.
Margaret created this quilt for her son as a gift for his first apartment.

Margaret used cool "movie credit" fabric for the back of her son's quilt.
Margaret stitched this 18 piece block with pattern from Leah Day.

Carol made this Halloween snack mat for her grandchildren.
Carol created these blocks with fabric from Pineapple Fabrics.
DeeDee finished this awesome Star Wars quilt using the Quilt As You Go method.
DeeDee had enough left over fabric to piece the back.  Way to go DeeDee!
DeeDee found these lovely cards while on a trip to the mountains.

These cards might serve as inspiration for an art quilt.

Joy was happy to bee with the group today along with the Jr. Quilter.

Lynda has made progress on her pomegranate block.

Ruth B brought her Christmas stocking fabric for next week's project at Family House.

Until next time, happy quilting!
