10/3/19: CCLQ at Gayle's


From the mountains to the beach...

eleven quilters met at Gayle's on October 3rd.  Members who attended the retreat had lots to show and folks who stayed home were productive too!  Look for an exquisite masterpiece quilt by Cheryl B and see what Linda H brought to show while on Fall Break. Gayle made this wonderful mirror for her front porch. 
Cheryl B shared her delightful finger pin cushions and.....drum roll please!
Cheryl B made this exquisite whole cloth king size quilt for her eldest grandson as a wedding gift.  
Cheryl custom quilted feathers....
beautiful roses and flowers and...
feathered circles...this quilt is truly a masterpiece.
Cheryl made this matching ring bearer pillow and 
a smaller ring bearer pillow just in case.

Cheryl B made this wonderful T-shirt quilt for her grand-daughter.
Linda H made this colorful modern baby quilt.
Linda also completed this fun Virginia quilt.
Joanna had two quilts to show today.

Joanna quilted this one made by Ella. 

Joanna also quilted this lovely blue and yellow quilt made by Ruth B.  
Jean finished this adorable bird quilt.
Jean made this wonderful piece using her embroidery machine.
Jean embroidered this whimsical linen hand towel as a wedding gift for a couple who enjoys biking. 
DeeDee attended the AQS show in Charleston and found this awesome sewing machine case. 
DeeDee also purchased this clever ruler. 
This was one of DeeDee's favorite quilts at the AQS show.

Lynda Mac shared her progress on the Sue Spargo quilt.  These are pictures of the patterns.

Candy completed this table topper. 
Candy created this awesome iPad cover.
Candy finished this lovely bag for her sister. 
Gayle started a new quilt using her gelli printed fabrics. 
Gayle's mountain retreat project involved making these wonderful appliqué and embroidery blocks. 
Joy pointed out that the quilt shown above is Barry's quilt made for his cousin (who will absolutely LOVE it!) It was quilted by Bea.
Cheryl B added these colorful fabrics to her stash.  She purchased them from the Pizza Girls at the DOQ meeting. 
Deborah finished the top of her donation quilt. 
Candy finished this fabric basket at the retreat. 

Words of wisdom by Cheryl B, "Mistakes impress me.  If we didn't make mistakes, we wouldn't learn." 

Keep on quilting...make mistakes...learn from it...have fun.
