3/19/20 - CCLQ @ Zoom!! - Week 1

Welcome to this week's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  My how quickly things change in the span of a few days.  We were scheduled to be at Ruth B's today, but in the midst of the current health crisis, Deborah scheduled us for a Zoom conference online.  Thank you for coordinating a virtual meeting for those of us who were able to attend!

There were 12 members in attendance.  Deborah reported that it was a wonderful meeting!  She said that it was great to see everyone and keep that quilt inspiration going.  She will provide the membership with a Zoom update in an email.

In addition to the Zoom meeting, members were asked to send photos to Joy for inclusion in our weekly blog posts.  She offered to publish during her Corona-cation, beginning today.

Here are the photos received...

Candy has completed her "Ella" quilt:

The backing...

... Begged to be a bias binding:

She made not one...

... But TWO table toppers for SECU Family House:

Candy also had a TELL - SECU Family House has postponed the Volunteer Brunch until Fall.

Cheryl B. is enlarging her long term applique project.  She is now using Stable Stuff by Ricky Tims and will speed the process by sewing the pieces down on her machine:

Cheryl K. made a homemade face mask:

Gayle finished a new acrylic painting:

She will hang the piece vertically, like this:

Here is what the piece looked like BEFORE Gayle decided to be less obvious and chose to cover the lettering with color:

Jean sent these funny photos of Willie...

Someone's been helping to sort the laundry:

Silly, Willie!!  Dogs don't need to wear clothes:

... Along with the embroidered Bunny runner:

Her snow dye is off the wall and under the needle.  Lots of feathers:

Jean also had a TELL - She believes that we may need more donation quilts.  To that end, Dee Dee suggested that we create a list of what we have in terms of what size and for whom, for example: twin size for girl, baby quilt for boy, etc.

Lynda Mac shared her dogs self isolating:

Joy is working on a faux trupunto technique...

... And is happy to report that the rails (of the longarm) are now ready for its next challenge.  I'm sure you'll see this completed quilt (in full) once Ruth S. has attached and sewn down the binding:

Dee Dee has been working on some paper-pieced practice blocks and is currently checking her stash for blue batiks for the REAL ones to be incorporated into a special gift:

Maggie completed the top of Blue and More Blue...

... And this Bunk Bed quilt made from a Pineapple Scrap Bag:

Maggie reports that this is her LAST homespun quilt!!  She is done with them.  This one measures 50 x 60" for the VA Hospice:

She also had a TELL - The AQS Workshop in PA has been canceled.

This week's Zoom hostess, Deborah, shared her completed B9P quilt top:

Ella showed her Butterfly quilt, but we didn't get a photo.  :o((

Until next time...
Stay healthy and keep quilting!!!
