5/12/20 - Virtual NT Nights

Welcome to the Early May meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Nights Quilt Bee!!  Members were encouraged to send photographs of projects they have been working on in the last couple of weeks.  A number of members did just that.

Show and Tell...

While working on this abstract landscape...

Britt realized that she needed a "sky" fabric infusion:

The fabrics above came from Thousands of Bolts, but after making the purchase, she realized that she could have had variety for even cheaper if she had ordered the WOF leftovers that they offer.

Marian (who has yet to make a meeting, but some of you know through DOQ) managed to this beautiful piece together:

Now, she's working on the Quilted Jacket that her Mother started...

Mom's jacket is at the top and Marian's piecework is at the bottom of the photo above.  So far she is just creating the patchwork that will go on the sweatshirt base.  At the time of her passing, Mom had only completed one strip set for Marian's jacket.  16 years later, the project is getting some attention.

Joy has bee quilting like a fiend!  She has made one mini quilt after another since the month began.  You can check out those items HERE.  Since that time, she has added the following...

The Joyful Forest made for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge:

Spot the Bluebird made with scraps from this week's Project QUILTING Q.4 Challenge - SPOTS:

However, in case you don't follow the link from above, I'm including a photo of this 9" wide x 5" tall Improv Barn Quilt:

Karen L. took a trip to Hobby Lobby to get a backings.  One of them is for her Kaffe Mod Dogs quilt:

She reported that their inventory was very low, but she was able to find a fray backing for it.  Karen has been working on this ongoing project of 6" blocks that will eventually be a color wheel:

Karen V. is revising her face mask making protocol and using these custom fit patterns. She's going to modify this a bit according to the attached picture so that people can customize ear loops or ties. (Those pictures show pockets for filters. She's not doing that since she's putting non-woven interfacing inside.)

Karen is making some masks for co-workers since they are phasing back in next week (with less than 10 people in the office at any one time).

Here's the link, in case you find it helpful:
Margaret finished the top of her BIL's T-shirt Quilt:

Carol has been working on a Postage Stamp quilt using 1.5" scrappy squares:

Thank you to all who contributed.  We look forward to seeing everyone (in person) sometime in the future.  Feel free to send MORE photos to be added in.

Until next time...
SEW safely!!!
