5/26 -Virtual NT Nights

Welcome to the late May meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Nights Quilt Bee!!  The blog editor asked everyone to send photos of what they've been working on.

Here's what was sent in...

Britt completed this lovely abstract landscape quilt:

She has also been entertaining binding options for...

... The reproduction quilt...

... That recently...

Berries next big task is getting her son's graduation quilt sewn together:

Joy made a mid-sized Quilted Scrap Basket for a friend:

She also tried a new mask pattern...

... (If you read posts from the morning group, you will understand) This is for the Junior Quilter:

Joy liked the process so much that she made another...

... For the JQ's big brother:

Patti finished 2 holiday lap quilts using the challenge blocks won in Dec 2019:

She made challenge BOMs for the quarantined months...

And a QOV quilt top:

Margaret completed a Scrap Quilt...

... And reports that she fell in love with the bicycle backing fabric:

She also made this 30 x 40" baby quilt:

The back is a panel similar to another baby quilt Margaret made some time back.  It's for the baby sister of the one who got the first sheep quilt:

Joyce had a TELL - "I have a wooden hand quilting frame (8' long, if I remember correctly) that I do not need.  How do I make it available to anyone in the guild? It's free."  The frame is currently assembled, but does come apart:

***Sorry!!  This item is no longer available!***

***Sorry!!  This item has been claimed!***

STILL AVAILABLE!!!

Karen W. needle felted this little wall hanging for a friend's birthday:

When asked if she drew it herself, she replied with the following:

I could have, but it probably wouldn't be recognizable.  Printed out some clip art, but I did create everything else.

Sherry had a TELL -
All, I hope you don't mind me emailing on a non-quilt-related topic. I volunteer for the Hillsborough Garden Club. Currently we are offering packets of Dwarf Sunflower Seeds - 15 seeds for a $5 donation. All proceeds go toward our scholarship fund. I can deliver the packets to you using social distancing or we can arrange to meet at the United Methodist Church in Hillsborough at the corner of Wake and Tryon.
Because of COVID-19, we weren't able to have our plant sale fundraiser in May, so I hope you will consider this. The seeds can be planted in a container or in the garden.
Thanks for considering this! I hope all are well and being safe.

Jean made a couple of vinyl car trash bags for a friend using iron-on vinyl and fabric from her stash:

The process went pretty well.  She read a number of blogs and found that the Pellon brand is the best to use.  Jean also learned that it's best to use the paper you take off the vinyl to use as a cover for your iron.  Don't use teflon pressing mats, as they can leave a texture.

She also made a couple more face masks, but mailed them off to her daughter without getting a photo first.

And...
Jean shared a close-up...

... Of the new quilt top she made from Halloween fabric:

She went through a couple of designs before settling on this one.  It's a keeper since all of those skeletons glow in the dark!!!

Until next time...
QUILT safely!!!
