9/26/20 - NT {OutdoorAdventure} @ Britt's

Welcome!!  With only a few days notice, Britt invited us all to her yard, ne, driveway for an outdoor Bee meeting.  Thank you, from the 13 of us who gathered!!

Arrival of the quilters...

Ella brought scraps for Joy:

Margaret brought "busy" work:

Alas, the driveway was wet from the rain overnight and the drizzle from earlier this morning, but our quick-thinking hostess had a plan:

Let the Show and Tell begin...

Helena and Ruth B arrived just in time:

Cheryl K. put out butterfly rows...

... With border options:

Ella showed off her Funky Chickens:

And...

Scraps for Joy:

Helena completed the top of her Pecking Order quilt:

She included some accent triangles to form diamonds in some of the "circles":

This is Helena's backing choice:

Candy brought batting for those finishing Joanna's donation projects:

She has finished the top of one of them:

Borders or binding???

Here's another look at the lovely scrappy quilt top:

Candy also brought her own project:

Her quilt top was made from this pattern:

Candy is entertaining border options, including these squares:

She used the border treatment that Candy was contemplating:

Here's a closer look:

Afterwards...

To Candy:

To Ruth B:

To Linda:

... And to Carol:

Maggie will be using her remaining squares to make this quilt pattern:

Helena talked with Joy about how she made her mask:

Candy shared her polling helper reward:

This was the circa 1976 blanket that protected today's quilts:

A photo of The Three Musketeers...

... Because it's been ages since they have been together!
(Try to ignore the "glasses fog", as it's apparently a side effect of mask-wearing on a humid day.)

Britt sent the following links...

Here's the link to the quick quilt pattern where you make nine patches, cut them once and rearrange for a quick quilt top:

NOTE:  The pattern is written for 5 inch squares but i plan to do it with the donated 10 inch squares instead.

Rope bowls:

Here's the tutorial that inspired me. She has an Amazon link to the thin clothesline I used. It was also the best price I found online. My next bowls will definitely not be as plain!

Until next time...
BEE sew happy!!!
