Welcome to the February (virtual) meeting of the NT Nights Quilt Bee!!  Eight quilters joined in.  The majority had projects to share with the group.  :o))

Show and Tell...

Karen W. couldn't be with us, but sent the following project photos:

Patti shared a phone photo of the commission library quilt top that she just finished.  She forwarded this photo, so that we could get a better look at the cats.  It measures approximately 51” x 63” and will be quilted by Suzan at Singing Stitches:

Ann:

Started a fun new baby quilt.  Her first Quilt as You Go project:

Missouri Star Quilt Company has kits available which include precut batting hexis to go with the templates:

Ann has a niece and a nephew expecting baby boys this summer:

She told us about a ruler quilting class at Bernina World of Sewing...

It's offered virtually and students end up with this table runner:

Sherry:

Had questions about binding her double sized Grandmother's Fan quilt that she had finished the quilting on:

Sherry also asked if anyone had experience with any kind of portrait quilts, as her son's dog died and she would like to make him a quilt:

Joy:

Her niece's wedding quilt is done:

Joy made this pin cushion for the Show Your Stripes Blog Hop:

Her next project may be these YELLOW basket off-cuts for another new pin cushion:

Joy's most recent finish was this YELLOW table topper for this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge:

She also showed the process of making Where's Jackson in response to Sherry's pet portrait question:

Maggie:

Finished her Table Scraps runner:

Maggie also re-finished her Convergence quilt, by removing the corners and re-binding the table topper:

Kirsten stitched as the group chatted:

She is binding her entry for the TABLE SCRAPS Challenge that Joy is hosting:

She also shared binding techniques used on this mini quilt:

Kirsten used another method for the binding on this quilt:

The main thing is to make sure that a seam doesn't end up landing at a corner of your quilt, as that makes it too hard to fold to the other side:

Kirsten showed her Dash quilt from a 2011 class, in response to Sherry's question about pet portraits:

Karen V:

Loom knitting baby hats...

During this meeting and lectures at QuiltCon Together:

Karen shared her favorite QuiltCon quilt:

Patti:

Just finished her first (and last) commission quilt top:

The cats were done using fusible applique:

Here she is, trying to open her bag of crushed walnut shells:

Patti bought them off Etsy...

... For adding weight to stuffed items:

Here, Patti demonstrated how fine the crushed shells are:

Carol:

Completed her yellow runner for Joy's challenge:

The hummingbird is paired with String blocks, just barely in view:

Carol told us that she plans to give Thread Painting another try...

... Using this tulip drawing that she traced:
