Welcome the May meeting of NT Nights Quilt Bee!! Joy had an idea. She wondered if the weather might cooperate for an in-person gathering.
Here's the back story...
We've been meeting on Zoom for many months, but members of our daytime group have been meeting outdoors, when possible. Where better than the parking lot of the place a number of us go after regular meetings, anyway?!
Joy planned for everyone to meet WAY in the back of the lot across from Whit's Frozen Custard. Everyone thought that was a brilliant idea and the following 8 members gathered:
Dawn arrived first, had gotten her ice cream, and was ready to set-up when Joy arrived:
Maggie arrived next and got right to work on the binding she's been stitching:
When Carol arrived, she and Joy walked over for ice cream:
By the time they returned...
Karen W. was settling in:
Jean stopped off to get her ice cream before joining us:
With the ice cream out to the way, we were all ready to see some Show and Tell...
Britt...
... And Kirsten arrived just as we began:
Joy shared her recent "Squirrel" project inspired by @ccpquilt on IG:
Her TABLE SCRAPS Challenge was inspired by Anorina @ Samelia's Mum Quilts:
Joy is finishing this UFO...
... Along with 2 donated quilt tops...
... For donation through Hands2Help:
Karen W. has been making a collection of Art Flags:
She finished this small quilt...
... As part of a challenge with her Original Works group:
Here is a close-up of the quilt...
... And her Art Flags:
Dawn shared the evolution...
... Of this quilt...
... That her sister was working on.
Dawn's putting together these Winnie the Pooh blocks and wondered if anyone might have some extra fabric:
Carol said she may be able to provide some Pooh fabric.
Maggie had another quilt to share. This is her May 2021 TABLE SCRAPS Challenge:
Maggie? Are you back there? Here she is:
Carol is in the process of making several Cat quilts for friends:
She's calling this one Cat-itude, at Maggie's suggestion. Notice the backwards cats and the blank square for the one that never comes when you call for it:
Kirsten brought the completed Seminole Shaggy quilt:
She's SEW happy to have this one ready to snuggle on the couch:
This photo gives you a better look at the variety of squares she used:
Here's a view of the back:
Kirsten also brought along the recently completed Marvel quilt...
... With superhero fabric on the back, too:
Jean has been working on these spectacular rainbow blocks:
Here's the front of the pattern:
She's also working on reassembling these I-Spy blocks:
One more photo, so that we can see what's been keeping Kirsten busy of late. She's been working on this beautiful shade garden:
Until next time...
Meet and eat!!!
