9/29/22: CCLQ at Gayle’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week the meeting was held at Gayle’s house.

DeeDee shared a photo of a quilt she plans to make.

Here’s a close up of the lovely bird fabric DeeDee will use.

DeeDee brought the cute Halloween quilt to show to folks who weren’t at last week’s meeting.

Deborah showed an antique appliquéd quilt top possibly from Virginia.  Deborah’s sister has a friend who has a cabin in the VA mountains. The friend has been collecting antique quilts for a while and is downsizing, so gave this top to Deborah.

Ruth shared her beautiful hexagon quilt.

Ella had a chicken story to share. Ella’s daughter has backyard chickens.  Yesterday she found one of the chickens had a stick in it’s side. Her daughter and grandson were able to remove the stick.  This morning the chicken was still alive.

Cheryl showed a sweet rainbow pillow  she made for her new grandson.

Candy brought more fabric to give away.

When cleaning up her sewing stash, Candy found this lovely appliqué block. The group remembered that this was made at Gayle’s appliqué class featuring Sharon Schamber’s  method.

Candy also found this giant bag.

Ruth brought the Pineapple block pattern to give away.

Linda was the luck recipient of the Pineapple block.  Linda  plans to go to the beach and will take her sewing machine.

Gayle had a fantastic time with her family at the beach.  She found some awesome sea biscuits.

Until next time, happy quilting!
