4/27/23: CCLQ at Maggie’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

Quilters met at Maggie’s this week.  Lots of fun show and tell!

Deborah, Gayle, Linda and DeeDee went to Greensboro last week to take sewing machines to McKinney Sew and Vac.  They also visited Calla Lily and Studio Design Quilt stores. Deborah didn’t plan to buy fabric but when she found out that Calla Lily gives quilt guild members 15% off…she had to buy some charm packs!

Candy is making progress with unpacking and her cats are adjusting nicely to their new home.  Candy brought this North Carolina Quilt book to give away.

Linda reported that she went to Gayle’s on Sunday and they worked out a layout for the crane quilt.

Carol finished this fun donation quilt!

Carol has been busy piecing 2.5 inch squares into a wonderfully colorful scrap quilt.

Ruth went to the Cary Quilting craft show and found this amusing doggy bandana for her daughter-in-law’s dog.  Ruth also reported that she’s making a NC State pillow for her grandson.  Ruth used a clever idea of using a NC State T-shirt since NC State fabrics are not available.

This is the “Branch Manager” bandana!

DeeDee finished the lovely llama quilt and asked for suggestions for binding.  After many trials of sample fabrics, Maggie had just right fabric.

Sweet rainbow with stars fabric for binding.

DeeDee made this awesome bug pillow for her art group challenge.

Ruth B is happy to be finished with dental work!  Ruth reported that the cats are now back with Candy and  it was a peaceful transition. Ruth is thinking about making a Tula Pink quilt with the “Tiny Creatures” line of fabric.

Maggie made this sweet Paddington Bear donation quilt.

Maggie showed this clever disappearing four patch pattern donation quilt.

Here’s  another beautiful donation quilt by Maggie.

What’s this?  It’s another amazing donation quilt from Maggie with circular quilting!

Maggie has been very busy!  Check out this colorful donation quilt.

Maggie made not only one of these, but two donation quilts.

Maggie shared this delightful fabric from Sewingly Yours fabric shop.

Maggie plans to use this fabric to make something for her daughter in law, who is an art teacher.

Complementary fabrics for the panel.

More beautiful fabric!

This fabric also is part of the line that complements the panel.

Lynda shared a story about her Cinnamon Sticks quilt.  The pattern had an error, so she’s waiting on some more fabric.

Until next time, happy quilting!
