Welcome to the weekly meeting of the
Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.
Candy and Ruth were happy to attend but no current projects that were ready to share. Stories of non-quilting activities were discussed but this blogger fell down on the notes so we are just going to enjoy both their smiles.
Maggie showed a baby quilt and asked if it needed a bit more quilting since the span of the cross hatch quilting is 6 inches. Decision from the group was to add in the ditch quilting both vertical and horizontal.
Carol did a great job fussy cutting the trucks as the centers of these Red, While, and Blue blocks. And she showed her Guild block of the month for May that is a jar of flowers that look like lighting bugs.
Deedee continues to bind the batik rails and Linda shared some piecing nightmares with the Cinamon stick pattern where the columns of blocks were not cooperating with the sizes. Lynda also decided the Tulip Seasons pattern would not do justice to the Tilda fabrics she got at the Hampton show. Ruth took the pattern so we'll keep and eye out for what she comes up with.
Deborah had a wonderful show of the beachy panel that is a gift for some friends that they visited who live at the beach. The turtle corner stone are a custom creation from Deb. She got the image of the turtle from the internet (which is the logo for the community) and she printed it on ink jet fabric sheets then appliqued them down. I'm sure the friends will feel very special when they receive this.
