8/31/2023 CCLQ @ Lynda's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week the group met at Lynda's home.

Carol started things off with this scrappy colorful logcabin'ish block that is sporting a puzzle piece backing.

Gayle found this wonderfull panel that will be quilted as is and given very soon at a Baby Shower.  Such a great layout no piecing is needed.

Linda spent a bit of time going through most of her binders of saved quilt patterns.  She brought 3 that were just speaking to be passed on.

Maggie had a baby donation made from a "new" to her pattern called "H".  Works great for a focus fabric. She also showed one of the Veteran donation tops that got it's final borders later that day. THe blocks were made by the Tuesday Group quilters

Candy got a little help in aranging the half hexies to make coasters.  Nothing like having a prototype layed out to make sense of the written instructions.

DeeDee is finishing up the binding on her Neighbor's Fish Quilt.

Cheryl told us of this Quilt being held hostage by her washing machine.  Once the machine got reset she was able to rescue it and give it another rinsing. Some of the light blocks got a rose tint but all agree it fits the overall tone of the quilt.

Deborah has the last (5th) T-shirt (and other clothing pieces) quilt that has taken up this years quilting creativity.  The red flannel will make a very cozy memory quilt indeed for her friend.

Lynda was very gracious to host us even though Barry was off at Urgent Care then the Hospital.  Thank goodness they could identify the problem and no surgery was needed.  Lynda found a Tilda quilt pattern book at Joanns that has multiple designs she will probably do.  She also showed us her fabric choice for the Sampler Round Robin that she would like done in a Star pattern featured in the book.

That's it for the meeting news.

The next day Cheryl Breeze got a visit and this blogger snapped a photo of one of the her latest applique tops.  She is so very busy taking care of grand babies and told us her youngest Son is expecting his first child.  Not sure how many grands that makes but I'm sure Cheryl and Lenny will love the new addition to the Breeze Family.

Keep Sewing and Stay Calm Until Next Week!
