9/7/2023: CCLQ at Cheryl K’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week quilters met at the home of Cheryl K.  Cheryl baked a delicious fruit galette.

Lovely flowers from Cheryl’s garden!

Gayle made this wonderful baby quilt for a friend’s great granddaughter.

Gayle is so happy to be back in her sewing room again.  She used free motion to quilt all the quilts shown today!
Gayle made this adorable baby quilt for a friend’s first grandchild.
Wonderful free motion quilting.

Gayle made this lovely modern style quilt with a giant flower.

Linda has been working on her sewing spaces.  She plans to hang a design wall and also her VanGogh quilt this week.
Candy is making a Quilt as You Go baby quilt and hopes to have it for show and tell next week.

Remember those tiny half square triangle blocks Carol showed last week?  Carol created this beautiful scrappy quilt with them.

Carol kindly sewed the binding on our group star quilt.  This quilt will be in the Senior Center Craft Show.

Ruth B brought a sample of her Kaffe Fassett quilt.  She found a vibrant purple that works perfectly for sashing.

Cheryl made this lovely bag for the upcoming block challenge.

Cheryl is also making a Charley Harper bird fabric quilt for a wall hanging for her bedroom .

DeeDee made this sweet baby donation quilt from some colorful left over blocks,

DeeDee delivered the fish quilt to her neighbor as a thank you gift.  He loved it and could name every fish on it!

DeeDee also delivered a quilt to her favorite nurse at the doctor’s office.

DeeDee shared this “color catcher” product made of fabric. This was found at the gift shop at the Textile Museum at Glencoe Mill Village in Burlington. Click here to find more information about the Historic Glencoe Mill Village.

This quilt was displayed in the historic mill office.  It was made to celebrate an anniversary of the mill village and features appliquéd blocks of the mill, mill houses, etc.

Deborah also visited the Glencoe Mill Village and put the Dye Lock fabric to the test!  This was the first washing of the red flannel backing for the T-shirt quilts.

Second washing.  Third washing was the charm…sorry no photo of that.

Until next time, happy quilting!
