9/21/2023 CCLQ @ Deborah's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!

This week Deborah hosted our group of seven quilters.

Deborah started us off by sharing a Heart pattern that fools the eye to thinking it's two different blocks.  The four patches on the corners of the blocks make it appear like an Irish Chain.  Very clever and the fabric to make the hearts is a wonderful floral ombre print.  Her test sample of the block is shown in pink. Scant 1/4 inch seams are her words of wisdom.

Deborah is quilting her final (?) t-shirt quilt with channel lines they look great and don't overwhelm the shirts.

Last Deborah shared info about shows at Page Walker Arts & History Center in Cary and Sertoma Arts Center in Raleigh.  These are put on by Studio Art Quilts Associates saqa.com

Ruth is moving along and has her blocks in rows.

Maggie had second thoughts on a paper pieced pattern that Barry and Ella passed along.   Still likes the pattern but can not even think of starting it so it's still up for grabs if anyone wants it.

In case anyone from the group wanted to try out Linda J Hahn's version of the New Your Beauty block,  she was the Guild speaker this month.

This cute santa pattern has been patiently waiting as a USO (Un-Started Object) since 2003.

Now he is an official UFO ... hope to have it quilted by 2024 Season.

DeeDee is making ornaments for the Passmore Center Craft fair that will be held December 2nd 2023.  The quilts for the fair are being hung on the walls of the Senior center on Sept 26th.

The stuffed fish and kitty cats were uncovered by DeeDee and will again see the holiday season.  They were originally made by her back in the 80's

Carol once again has outdone her imagination with this scrappy layout for a donnation top.

Gayles been shopping and boy did the group ooh and aah!  First off a package of rick-rack in all bright colors.  Next some fabric from Cary that just had to go home with her.  Little Doggies in the park, they are just adorable.  A day in the Park by Anita Jerman for Clothworks

Finally (not in focus) but a wooden case to home the self threading needles she purchased.  These are diffent in that the opening for threading is on the side versus the top.

Linda has finished going thru her saved patterns and passed along 2 that had both Gayle's and Candy's name on them.   She really went the extra mile by purchasing fabric that went along with the patterns.

Candy got a Paddington panel because of her new street address.

Gayle got a beach theme panel and pattern.

Candy had some tells about her very trying week ... All hope things improve for her next week.  Could Paddington come to the rescue to turn things around?

That's all Folks till next week just keep bobbin along!
