OK, so you have NO idea what I'm talking about. Today was the Kick Off day for Bonnie Hunter's new mystery quilt. You can find her (and the mystery) at quiltville.com.
Britt has done a number of these mysteries and they always turn out beautifully. I've always wanted to do one of Bonnie's mysteries and this year I simply couldn't resist. (It's ALL Britt's fault!!!)
I started with these fabrics (not necessarily in Bonnie's color palette):
For once Britt decided to go with Bonnie's colors - but to use batiks.
Britt came over this morning with her half-square triangle die and her die cut machine, a Sizzix Big Shot. That little machine made cutting a SNAP! We were done before we knew it and were ready to move on to the next step in Clue 1.

Britt's triangles cut and paired up ready to sew (camera phones and batiks are not a great match up!)
And then became a heap of half square triangles (with no trimming needed. wonderful!)
Too bad Britt didn't have a square die, too! Here are the squares that I cut:
And these are Britt's soon-to be squares:
The verdict is still out whether I cut the right number of pieces for my half-sized quilt or not. Only time will tell.
Monday is Link Up day, so you'll have to wait until then for this week's reveal.
Sorry...
It will be here before you know it. (Especially, on a holiday weekend!)
And remember, it's not too late to join in the FUN!!!
Until then...
Happy Quilting!!!
