6/30/15 - NT Nights @ the H'boro Library

The end of June is upon us.  This brings us to the monthly evening meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee.  With the 4th of July holiday weekend right around the corner, we had SIX members in attendance.... and that was with TWO "regulars" missing!!!

We also welcomed TWO guests.  Thanks for coming Annelise and Karen!  We hope that you enjoyed yourselves so much that you will join us again.

We were quite the industrious group!  ALL members (and guests) worked on their quilting projects...

Straight through the storm that blew through, complete with driving rain (and hail), leaving branches scattered all over town.  Thank goodness, the power stayed on!!  :o))

Margaret was sewing down the binding on her Fast Forward/Rewind Quilt:

This cool pattern uses 3 different sizes of triangles and a unique layout:

Here's a close-up of the linear quilting done by Mark deSerres:

Margaret is happy that she is almost done with Joe's quilt to take off to college this fall:

Joy brought one of the T-shirts that she dyed at Dee Dee's Dye Frenzy:

The other one is a candidate for over-dying next year!

She got busy on pinning her Strawberry Upside Down {Short}cake Donation Quilt:

Jill worked on cutting applique pieces out of (recycled/repurposed) book binding plastic:

Joy was REALLY in the quilting spirit tonight with her SewCaroline.com finds:

Our guest Annelise hobbled in on crutches:

And our guest Karen got right to work on her Pet Auction Quilt:

Helena laid out fabric...

And blocks...

To test out the Hugs and Kisses pattern (for her niece.)

Annelise set up her machine to quilt on...

THIS vibrant quilt:

And just LOOK at what she did with some leftover bits on the back:

Britt worked on the pieced back...

For her "Tuscan" Solstice Bonnie Hunter (Celtic Solstice) Mystery:

We all had a delightful surprise when Kirsten showed up!  She brought along her knitting.  Have a look at her beautiful lace shawl:

Here's a better look at Karen's Auction Quilt:

And take a look at the accent block:

TOO cute!!!

I think our guests had a wonderful time and we did, too!

Until next time...
Happy Red, White, and Blue Day!!!
